I'm finally booked for my rhinoplasty procedure on...

I'm finally booked for my rhinoplasty procedure on the 20th of November. I've wanted this procedure for so long, I actually can't believe it's happening. I'm very happy about going with Dr Vladimir Grigoriyants- from all the doctors I researched on, his work stood out. Considering I'm flying in from over seas, have an ethnic nose- I think he's the man to go to.

Of course, I am terribly scared of the procedure, and was hoping all of you can help me through it. I've never been in a surgery prior to this. I'm anxious about the anesthesia, and scared something might go wrong. Can anyone shed light on that?

Also, because I'm flying in only for the surgery and back home in two weeks- is that okay? Or is that too little time for the healing? Dr Grigoryants said I could fly out the day after cast removal. Has anyone done that? How was the experience? Did anyone face any problems?

Are there any pre op suggestions you guys have? What I should eat, what I should do? I do smoke, but I'll quit a good month or two before the surgery.

After the surgery what are the essential things I should get and do? Also, because I'm going to be in a hotel- how will I manage to sleep up right? I'm really weary of that! What if subconsciously I slip back into sleeping straight mid night? I'm terrified of that!

I have a wedding to attend a good month after the surgery, will my swelling be very visible?

I just want to be as prepared as possible!! I'm getting a hump removal, shortening the length of my nose, taking the nostrils in, and thinning the sides. Basically everything!!

Another thing I noticed from the reviews I was reading, and a lot of people said they were unable to relate to themselves with the new nose. I had never thought of that till I read all that. Is that just a preliminary feeling or not?

Thank you to all those who posted reviews on this forum, all of you have been a great help and motivation for me. Having had lived so conscious of my nose for so long, I can hardly wait to not be thinking of it anymore!!

Also, those who have had their surgery with dr Grigoryants , where should I stay? Which hotel or apartment hotel would you recommend? My sister and my mum will be coming with me for support since I am such a baby :p

Oh how exciting!!! I'm so sure we're both feeling the same emotions right about now!! Have you met with Dr Grigoryants? I've basically just communicated over email and the phone!

Scared, but so excited!

I can't wait for Novemeber to just get here! Literally obsessing about my nose now :p
But along with all this excitement- I'm scared. Scared of all those things that can go wrong! Eeeek!! I totally trust dr vladmir, but I guess feeling this emotion is completely normal?
However, I have started hated my nose even more than before- I'm guessing that's because I'm looking at it more, imagining it small and without the hump! I wonder if anyone else felt this?
Eeeeek, but soooo excited!! I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!

I'm probably not going to put up any pictures now, but after the surgery! But if anyone is interested I can most definitely message my pictures now!!

I'm very excited for you and know what you will be going through! I was terrified of the anesthesia. Right before surgery I asked the anesthesiologist how dangerous it was, he said "you have a better chance of crossing the street right now and getting hit then you do having any issued with anesthesia". I felt much better! 2 weeks will be enough time for you to go back home. I recommend taking arnica which helps with bruising if your surgeon approves. I understand how you feel about hating your nose! I get very obsessed with hating my nose but talking about it makes me feel better. I hope you love your new nose. Just have realistic expectations and be happy for small improvements. I'd love to see pics of your nose! Please private message me.

Where to stay?

Ac6
HI guys!!
As my survey gets closer, the more stressed I get!! So for now I'm just focusing on whatever I can to make sure that everything that is in my control is sorted. With that said, I've been doing a lot of research on Hotels and Bnb, but haven't been able to decide on a place. I'm not too keen on hotels- looking for something like a hotel apartment. Also I'm not sure about which area is safe and which isn't. My mum and sister will be accompanying me, so I want them to be as comfortable as possible. Can anyone tell me where they had a great experience? I'm super stressed!! Any help will be appreciated!!
