I have decided to take the plunge and get my nose...

I have decided to take the plunge and get my nose done! I've been wanting to change my nose since I was about 16 ( I am 23 now) and have researched sooo many doctors. I had a consult with Dr Watts here in Perth AU, he was a lovely man and his work looked great, but I felt what he wanted to do to my nose was too subtle and didn't feel he was going to make much of a difference to my nose.
I had been researching Dr. Grigoryants at the same time and thought I was crazy for wanting to travel across the world for a nose job. However I just keep coming back to Dr G and his amazing gallery of before and afters and all his great reviews. (I have seen a couple of bad ones but i am willing to take the risk).
I have decided to follow through with going to the US and have put my $750 USD deposit down (945AUD). I have booked my accommodation through Airbnb in West Hollywood ($2100 AUD) and I will be staying for 2 weeks in July. I am lucky to have my boyfriend come along with me to help me through the dreaded first few days of recovery.
I had an email consult with Dr G and he told me he wanted to reduce the bump, narrow the bridge, refine my tip and make my nostrils smaller if he needs to. My main concern is the bump in my bridge and the roundness/ lack of refinement of the tip of my nose front on.
At my previous consult that I had in Perth, the Dr told me i had thin skin over my bridge but over the tip it got a little bit thicker. I am slightly worried about this as i do know thicker skin doesn't refine as nicely.
Fingers crossed Dr G has enough experience to know how to deal with this.
I was quoted $10 500 USD for this surgery this comes to $13243 AUD with accom/flights/medication on top of that...Very pricey but adding it all up, it's not a whole lot cheaper to get it done here at home with a dr who doesn't possess as much expertise as Dr. Grigoryants.
Does anyone know how much about they spent on medications over there and how much i should budget for the medications afterward?
I will be flying home 8 days after my surgery date... how did people go with flying after this procedure? Is there anything recommended to ensure a more comfortable flight?
and one more question!... travel insurance. Anyone in Aus who has gone over for a cosmetic procedure, what travel insurance did you use? I read somewhere that if going over for a cosmetic procedure alot of insurance companies won't cover you even for the most basic things!
time to get back to work to save for this trip XD

MissD1994 I got the cast off yesterday! Very happy! I’m still swollen obviously but I think it’s great so far. You’ll be happy with Dr G!

Ok so it's getting closer now !! I keep having moments where I talk myself out of the procedure but then the next minute I'm beyond excited to get it done. The fear of the unknown is making me anxious about it and I'm just sooo hoping that the result I end up with is something I don't hate.
Here are some pictures of my current nose situation !!

Good luck pretty lady! I’d be careful with your tip. You don’t want to take away from your ethnic beauty. I’d be so conservative with your nose. It’s already pretty nice.. good luck !

aw thanks DixieDix46. I trust that dr G will know what to do, I definitely don't think I have the ugliest nose in the world but feel as though improvements could be made for sure

I do like your goal pics a lot. The girls have what they call a “bottom heavy tip” I’d make sure to tell him that. This way your nose won’t look so short on front view, and pointed with too much nostril show. Instead it will look soft and full. Feminine. Again good luck. Wish you all the best. I’ll be following your journey

Medical Travel Insurance and Medication costs

Just a quick little update here at 3 days out. I can't believe how fast time has flown!
My boyfriend and I arrived in LA yesterday afternoon (OMG such a long flight) but wow LA is a whole new world compared to the little town I come from in Western Australia.
I received an email today from Gr Grigoryants office letting me know that I would be needing to pay $95.00 tomorrow at my pre-op appointment in cash for my medications, so thats the cost for that.
I researched a whole bunch of travel insurance options which proved very difficult in finding anything that covered cosmetic surgery. I ended up getting the basic travel insurance by 'Covermore' which cost me about $100 for the two weeks. I then found a company call Global Protective Solutions that provides cover for cosmetic surgery. They quoted me $600 AUD, not cheap :(
pre- op appointment is booked tomorrow for 5:00 PM, super excited : D :D
Bye for now! i will update after my pre op :)

If you’re flying over a week after the surgery you should be fine. I would suggest taking some zzzquil or sleep meds to just help you pass out for as long as possible but other than that you should be fine.
The meds they gave me cost me like 90$ And they had them available at his office.
I can answer any more of your questions let me know :)
