22yr Old Girl FINALLY Getting a Rhinoplasty with Dr. Grigoryants
ORIGINAL POST
I haven't gone through with my procedure yet,...
$9,500
I haven't gone through with my procedure yet, however, it's officially in the calendar for October 4th, 2017. I CANNOT wait. I've been wanting this since I was a young girl and I'm finally getting it. Dr. Grigoryants style of noses is what I prefer best. I wasn't able to find anyone else who's work I preferred more than his. I will update as soon as I near the surgery date!

I feel like your nose is going to be such an easy fix, there is no way it won't turn out perfect. Really you just need to bump smoothed. Lucky!!

SUPER late update
so its been just over a month since i’ve gotten my surgery and a lot has happened. I’ll start off with how the consultation went.
***CONSULTATION***
so this took place on Oct 3rd. just like all the reviews claim, it was very quick, maybe 10-15 minutes MAX. even tho i? tried hard to kind of drag it on as long as i could bc i wanted to make sure i wouldn’t forget to ask him anything. I showed him my “wish photos” and he told me he wouldn’t think a large slope would suit my face and suggested a very delicate upturn of the tip instead. i agreed bc i trust his expertise and professional opinion. THANK GOD i took his advice. I asked him about spreader grafts and if they really do make the bridge look wider. he told me it depends on how thin your bridge was before surgery. if it was very thin before and you get spreader grafts, your bridge will end up appearing slightly wider and vice versa. mine was a happy medium so my bridge already looks fine. I? was never really bothered with the wideness of my bridge tbh. next morning i? had my surgery
***SURGERY***
so they told me to be there at 10AM. i made it around 9:40AM ish. the waiting room was unbelievably cold and you get zero signal. i waited for a while to be called. Probably around 12:30 i was all prepped and everything. the anesthesiologist and all the nurses were SO sweet. They told me they were gonna pump the “Happy Juice” into me and next thing you know i’m under. when i wake up, i was a little confused as to where i was until i remembered “hey you just got a nose job!” lol. i wasn’t greeted by Dr. Grigoryants at all after the surgery which was kind of a bummer but whatever. i was in no pain at all afterwards
***POST OP***
When i got to my AirBnB i was sooo tired and wanted to sleep but you’re not allowed to lay down at all until you get your cast off. let me tell you... sleeping at a complete 90 degree angle and breathing out of your mouth all night is single handedly the WORST experience ever. for one, i could barely sleep because i’m sitting up straight, i’d get maybe 2-3 hours a night of a very light sleep that entire week. i was a zombie bc i had no rest. but breathing out of your mouth for 6 days was even worse especially when trying to sleep. my mouth would get so dry throughout the night that i would literally CHOKE from there being no moisture in my mouth. i had a 24 pack of water right next to my bed.
Changing my bandages wasn’t too hard. however the first 3 days were rough bc the drainage that came out of my nose would dry up every once in a while and so when i’d need to change it, the gauze would stick to my skin. i had to gently tug the gauze off a few times tho. i’d say the pain is a 5.5/10. i think the sheer paranoia and anxiety i’d get from worrying if i messed anything up from tugging was insane. i almost fainted 4 times bc i was just seriously over thinking it. the last three days my drainage stopped and my gauze stopped sticking to my skin.
my appetite after surgery was completely nonexistent. i’d eat maybe twice a day at the most.
***CAST OFF***
when my name got called up I got really nervous. All these thoughts started running through my head, “what if i? hate it” “what if it didn’t come out nicely?” things like that. The cast off process was really quick. However i’m VERY sensitive to pain so all the reviews i read about the cast off being painless didn’t apply to me. It really did kind of hurt when he removed it, and just like before, i felt extremely light headed and nauseous the whole time bc im dramatic. when he showed me my nose in the mirror i HATED IT SO MUCH. i was in shock bc i just spent $9500 on something i didn’t even end up liking. but i reassured myself that it had only been 6 days and it takes A YEAR for the final result. i got over it really quickly. the first 2 and a half weeks, my nose was extremely swollen and it made me feel like i had a dog snout... but the swelling has gone down so much and i’m loving it more and more each day :) i see very slight differences in my nose every week and i?ts only been a month.
***BREATHING***
My breathing was horrible at first. in the beginning i had MASSIVE boogers that dried up and attached themselves to the inner lining of my nose which made it almost impossible to breathe and when i did breathe i sounded exactly like Darth Vader, it was so loud. it was extremely painful to remove the boogers too... took me about 3 weeks to suck it up and manage to take them out. I’m really glad i did bc it improved my breathing a lot but my breathing still isn’t how it was. however i gently blew my nose the other day (lots of boogers came out) and now my breathing is almost back to normal. it’s still kinda loud and some effort has to be put into it but whatever, it’s just a matter of time.
please send me questions if you have any!!!!! i’ll post photos in a little while

Can you post pics now that the cast is off?

Really interested to see how you look now :D

I showed him my wish photos and said this is exactly what I want. He told me that from his professional opinion he didn't think a nose like that would suit me. So then I just told him do whatever he thinks is best! I absolutely love my nose so I don't regret telling him to do that :-)

whoops, I meant to respond to someone else's comment... I'm not sure why it posted under yours lol

How long did you stay in California after your surgery? I LOVE your nose omg it suits you beautifully

November 28, 2017
awww thank you, me too!! lol
I got there around noon on the 3rd of October, had my surgery the next day on the 4th, got my cast taken off on the 10th and flew back later the same day. It's definitely worth it, Dr. G is the best, but I HIGHLY recommend you bring someone with you. I went alone initially but when my boyfriend facetimed me after my surgery and he and I both knew I wouldn't get by alone so he immediately purchased a plane ticket. He arrived around 11PM the same day and was the biggest help EVER. If I was alone the whole time, it would've been really rough tbh

Thanks so much, this is very helpful! One last question, did you initially have a FaceTime consultation before booking your appointment and paying? Or did you just fly out and see the computer imaging photo the day before your surgery?

November 29, 2017
i had an email consultation and showed him pictures of my nose and my wish pictures back in May. i had my in-person consultation with him the same day i flew to california and had my surgery the following day. i didn’t see any computer imaging photo. and I had to pay in full 4 weeks before my surgery

The rest of my comment didn’t post, how long did you stay in California? I’m from Northern VA and I’m really interested in getting this procedure done! Is it worth traveling to California?
