Hey everyone! I'm so excited to finally get my nose done. It isn't huge or anything but it does have a small bump and a pretty bulbous tip. My chin is also quite recessed and I want a small implant to make it look normal but still feminine. Does anyone have experience with cold feet about their chin implant? Ultimately I know I want it, but recently I have seen some reviews saying how it deformed their faces. That's scary to think about.

I am getting my nose and chin done with Vladimir Grigoryants in Glendale (Los Angeles), CA! I'm excited to go to LA and explore the town a bit before I get my nose job.

On another note, I've started to shop around for my rhinoplasty surgery recovery supplies. (I'll post my list really soon.)

You will be so glad you chose Dr. Grigoryants! I'm so happy with my results and it keeps getting better and better every day.

Some supplies I would recommend are,

Arnica pellets (I got mine off amazon) you take 5pellets 3x a day starting about 5 days before surgery and continuing for about 2 weeks post op. I have no proof that this is WHY I didn't really bruise or swell much or have any pain, but these are all things arnica is said to help exponentially.

Neosporin for any external nostril cleaning
Q tips
Saline spray
Pillows (or a wedge pillow) to prop yourself up for the first week while you sleep
I got a TV tray table to eat in bed
Dry mouth mouthwash (it's a desert every morning while splints are still in)
Cozy pjs that button up (so as not to hit your nose pulling over your head)
A great lip balm (again, mouth breathing)
A laxative (anesthesia and pain pills clog you up!)
Vaseline for after splint and cast comes off to moisturize inside of nose
Make sure you have lots of soft foods, yogurt, soup, etc

That is so reassuring! You look so awesome by the way. I love seeing results like yours because it makes me feel so much more confident in my decision with Grigoryants. And noted on the mouthwash and pjs!

I have the same issues and I'm having both procedures with him on 12/8! I'm nervous but excited :)

Girl, yes on the stool softener!! Lol. I didn't realize I needed it while taking the painkillers and had some serious issues. My surgeon allowed the use of Afrin for congestion. I know some surgeons don't recommend it because it can lead to dependence if you use it continuously, but it can really help with congestion if your surgeon says it's okay. Good luck with your surgery!

My two absolute best tips: 1) you need Ocean brand Saline nose spray to spray into a bowl and dip Qtips in to clean the inside of your nose and 2)get a crockpot to put water in with washcloths...at some point (your doctor will tell you when), you switch from cool compresses to warm, and then you can just have the crockpot near you and swap out the washclothes without getting up (because they get cold fast)...helps the skin adhere more to the new shape of your nose and also helps eye bruising dissipate. Those are the two best tips from my surgeon:)

Okay awesome! These are such unique tips so I’m really glad you shared them!

You're welcome! The crock pot warmer has been a life saver in getting my skin to shrink up to my new nose!
November 1, 2017
Yeah!! I totally didn’t think about it. Did you use arnica for the bruising or no?
November 1, 2017
Didn't use arnica. I had extremely dark bruising and the warm compresses from the crock pot also made those go away sooo much faster. I could see an improvement every time I used them.

Ohhhh okay. I’m super fair skinned so I already know my bruising is going to be bad I just don’t want to scare my friends and family because they already don’t really support this. I’ll definitely be using the crock pot though and making sure I get new compresses when I’m supposed to!!

I'm fair skinned, too. Oh you will DEFINITELY scare your friends! Get some heavy concealer, trust me! Just for under the eyes...worth it 100%!!

Ahhh gotcha. Great opportunity to try that dermablend foundation it’s supposed to be amazing coverage

Here are some photos of my goal noses. The first two are actual patient before and afters by the doctor I'm going to. I was also thinking about going to Cochren in Texas but I decided I liked Grigoryants work better and it was much closer.

I recently had rhinoplasty and wish I got a chin implant in combination. Your projected before and afters look amazing I'm sure you will love it. I would just go conservative with the chin implant the only time people are unhappy with them is when they go too large. Good luck can't wait to see your after pics!

oh my gosh thank you so much!!

I’ve also considered Cochran. He is about 30 min from where I live. But I think I will end up going with grigiryanys even though that requires me to travel out of state for the surgery. How far out did you have to schedule your surgery from the initial consultation? Wondering how long the wait is to book surgeries with him.

I booked about 6 months out but that was my preference. I wanted to pay most in cash. I also traveled to see him, I live in the Bay Area so I took the trip to make sure I had the best surgeon possible for my face! Who is Cochran? I’m unfamiliar.

That’s so funny! I love this community because I don’t feel alone. I have seen so many people consider the same doctors as me and have the same exact before and after photos that they want to recreate.

Honestly I was too excited to schedule so I scheduled a year in advance so I would have a deadline to meet and a goal to work towards so I could make sure that I was saving enough money for it. That being said, when I scheduled with him he intially was going to charge much more but I was able to work with him down a few thousand. Also, when I did book with him he was trying to get me in within the next month or two months so I know he isn’t completely full. I haven’t gotten my in person consult yet, I’ve only had it over email. Usually he has patients from out of town come the day before their surgery for the consultation but I’m going there 4 weeks before my surgery because he needs to have a perfect fitting chin implant sent to the office so he needs to get my measurements beforehand.

Cochran is a rhinoplasty specialist located in Texas. He only does rhinoplasty and chin implants so he is very very good at them. His style is similar to Grigoryants where they are very feminine and slightly upturned. I have seen a lot of people on here struggle choosing between the two.

Also, there is a $750 booking fee when you make your appointment but that fee is taken off the total of your procedure. The total cost of my procedure is 12,500 (which includes all fees and visits) but when I go to my consultation I will only be paying 11,750 because I paid $750 to book the date.
