After being unhappy with my hooded eyelids for the last 3 years, I have had a consultation for upper eyelid surgery in Harley Street. I was happy with the surgeon I saw and made sure I asked all the questions I needed answering. My procedure is booked in January and although a big part of me knows I am making the right decision I cannot help feeling a little apprehensive. I have not found any bad reports on my chosen surgeon and I have fully read up on this procedure and watched videos and read other peoples stories on here. I think my biggest concern is the scar, I have been told there will be a scar and once healed should look no more than a small crows foot but I just pray this is the case and I don't end up looking like Frankenstein's monster :0

At the moment I can use makeup to disguise the hooding but as time is going past it is getting harder and I feel I look older than I am as well as looking constantly tired. I feel I have a realistic expectation, I just want to look fresher.

I had surgery 8 years ago and I am now preparing for a second surgery as I age. I had no problems and have been extremely happy with the results. My aesthitician can't even see my scars! You will look wonderful and feel better about your appearance.

hi im just back from turkey after having upper eye lid surgery I had 3 surgeries on the 19th dec , I had a boob job ear correction surgery and upper eye lid , my ears are ok but the one has pretty much gone back to the way it was before , my boobs are still very sore but seem ok , but now my eyes that's a different story im absolutely devastated about them as the one eye lid is fine but the other is much lower and my scars are really bad one lid is so high up its no where near the crease and the scars at the sides are really bad and lumpy , I feel so self conscious of how I look I cant even look ppl in the face anymore , ive contacted my surgeon who says they will get better with time and I am still healing at the minute , I hope hes right but how I feel at the moment I don't know whet to do x

I am sorry that you are not completely happy with you results Kazzy, you were very brave undergoing many procedures in on go bless you. I have read on here and other sites about other people being concerned about the symmetrical appearance of there incisions scars and also lumpiness - most have said though it will improve in time and recommend regularly rubbing bio oil on them - I have my stitches out next Tuesday so until then my surgical tape has to remain in place so I have no idea what mine look like at the moment x

You appear to be healing very nicely. Look forward to seeing more pictures as you progress. Good luck

hi and thankyou , im so down about my eyes as i wanted to come home feeling happy as i got divorced 5 years ago after 27 years and i live alone but would love to be with someone , thats why i decided to save up for 3 years and have the surgery done so as maybe in time i would be able to find someone else and be happy , my life is so sad as my ex husband married a woman i work with so i see her every day and i hear her on the telephone to him ect , i live alone with my little dog and have no one so was hoping for great results to give me the confidence to try and move on , thats why i am so gutted and sad , do you think my one eye lid will improve in time ? the left one is fine but the right one is cut way above the crease and is so lumpy , you said people have said it does get better i hope so as i dont want to live the rest of my life with a droopy eye lid , its been 3 weeks for me tomorrow and my lids are still very sore my bruising has gone but the rest is really bad , i travelled to istanbul alone as i didnt tell anyone what i was doing well just my mom as she looked after my dog for me , i feel so upset now and keep looking at my eyes and wishing i had never had it done , thanks for the reply xx

I completely understand, I'm single my marriage broke down 8 years ago and in that time I have not found anyone - I hoped my surgery would give me a fresher look I'm sick of having to lift my eyelids up to put makeup on to then have the makeup covered by loose skin - you sound like a lovely person and I think it's still very early after surgery to worry too much get yourself some good concealer and pop that on the scars the when you do your eyeshadow pick a dark one for the bottom and sweep it outwards and a lighter one for above the scars below your eyebrow you will be able to disguise it and make yourself better until it gradually sorts itself out - I'm going to have to do the same once my stitches are out - if you can sweetheart try and concentrate on the bits you are pleased with like your boobs - I've got naturally big boobs and would not have the guts to have a reduction so I'm stuck with them and big means heavy and saggy

kazzyb...3 weeks is so early in the healing process. Please be patient and don't judge by how your eyes look now. I am sure they will improve with time. In the meantime do try some of ravenbabe's tips on trying to improve the look of them by makeup application. God bless you.

Sorry! You look like a teenager! I have surgery scheduled for my breasts.......well, I am confident about that procedure. I get the "heavy bags" from my Father's side. You look AMAZING!

That's very kind - the procedure did not hurt although it was not particularly nice either but well worth it - I am going to do a little list tomorrow of things that helped me with my recovery

Your eyes look amazing. It's an incredible improvement. I too have the droop lid which I intend to remedy this spring. But truly, you look so young and refreshed. You should post a finished photo similar to your initial pre-op pic.
