Generic Cosmelan for the Same Price As the Real One
I experienced a botch chemical peel early 2019 & experienced serious hyperpigmentation.
I researched for several weeks & found Cosmelan. Late 2019 i called Dr. Roba & asked if he does the Cosmelan by Mesoestetic. Dr. Roba called me personally & said he does. I was required to make half paymet ($300) to secure him purchasing the kit.i was told the peel is $700-$740.
About 3 days later i drove 2 hours to his office. For my peel. Dr. Roba met me on the waiting Of his office and grieveth me with a friend Lee smile. Then told me I would have to process the final payment for the peel before he could conduct it. He said encouraging words (felt scripted) about my burned skin condition. We went into a patient room (door was not closed) and he began to bring out these white Avery labeled bottles and prepared me for the peel. I had to ask what he was doing and ask to see the containers for Mesoestetic labeling. He then began to explain that he has a more generic version of the peel that is a pharmacy compund mix & will work just as Mesoestetic.
Because I had already requested a full week of leave from work & my skin was already in bad shape I just went ahead with the peel. During my days of the peel i was able to have text/phone communication with Dr. Roba. The results were impressive with the kit. But i was extremely disappointed/upset that he charged me full price for a Cosmelan that wasnt the original product! I felt he took for granted my vulnerability & desperation.
When i returned for the 2nd peel (he kept my 1st batch products labeled with my name). I realized he decanted some of over priced purchases generic products from the container & pretty much rushed me out the office.
Like i said, the product used worked well but im sorry honesty & sincerity of this doctor is very questionable. Realself should not list him as a Cosmelan facilitator if he actually used generic pharmacy mixes. Or if he does uses generic its not fair that he charges the same price as the real Cosmelan product.
Btw:
1. I did experience pimple breakouts (and still some what do) on my cheeks with the product used on my skin. I ended up finding anothet VA docotor that uses the authentic Cosmelan peel.
2. I would have sincerely considered his practice for continued treatment if ONLY he was upfront & honest from the beginning.
3. I feel the generic used on my skin more than likely has hydroquinone in it due to the way my skin got impressively light for a few days then dark after discounting use.
