WORTH IT
Really pleased. More uncomfortable than I had anticipated but that's more to do with pressure from the uber glam compression garments resting on the arm scars/significant bruises.
It's difficult putting certain clothes on still as movement is still restricted but we are still only 18 days in.
Yes it's still swollen, yes, still bruised but even with with all that I can see the improvement in the size and shape of my arm.

I am wearing Marlena Comfortwear. I actually like it a lot. It is like a very tight jacket. On Tuesday I am supposed to switch to a garment that has sleeves and hooks in the back. I've gotten so comfortable in this that I'm not sure that I even want to switch! I am 11 days out. I have had several surgeries in the past and would only rate this about a three in terms of pain, but we are all different. Good luck!

We went straight into sleeve with back hook. Difficult to get into after arm op and can't put my arms down properly as I am broad backed. I plan to get a compression top instead this week. Progress everyday.
Thanks

Glad you're doing well. Its a long compression road, right? I had my surgery 10/18 and this is the first week without wraps on. Ive bought a Nike compression shirt. Some days I wear it some days, not. This is my 5th week PO. I still have discomfort at the inside of my elbows. I must be getting better because sometimes I don't notice it hurts. Be very careful at this time not to reach and open the incision at the armpit. For some reason this is the dangerous time. So reach carefully. Isn't it fun having thin arms. I don't look at them that often. They're either wrapped or in my compression shirt. This is life changing for us with big arms! You're looking great!

Thank you. Yes in danger of doing too much ( according to My Husband ) bored of compression but if I leave them off I throb after a few hours and I am aware of lumps. Pleased with the results. So firm!!
Not sure I will be wearing what I had originally planned for Xmas party unfortunately as scar still quite obvious.

Back to normal "work wise" but still aware as it pulls under the armpit still. Can't quite raise my right arm completely.
Swelling reducing. My left arm is just amazing. Right great but has a few lumps and bumps. I think they are actually highlighted because the rest is doing so well. I am not concerned.

I have just showed your latest pics to my husband and he was really impressed, as they look fabulous. Such neat scars. You must be so pleased with them :).

Your arms look great! I don't know if you've seen my replies to other posts but I am having mine done on 1/15/18. I have my pre-op apt next week and have already written down some questions( compression garment, etc... ). Did you have any or much trouble with your bathroom needs right after surgery? That is one of my main concerns since I live alone. I have a couple friends who will be helping me some not with toileting. I may get a home health aide part-time if I need it. I am staying overnight in the hospital one night so that will help. I was an Occupational Therapist, who also had back surgery last year, so am set with other equipment; bath seat, reacher, long handled sponge, etc. I am excited but also getting anxious!!! My scar will probably be further down my armpit since I am having some upper back fat also removed. Not too worried about the pain. Back surgery was really rough and I am not averse to taking pain meds as needed!
Delighted with what I can see as progress every day. I have also found large tube knee bandages to work exceedingly well. I wear at night so I can put my arms down.
Good luck. You won't regret it x
