Six weeks post op

Made it through vacation. I found that eating out causes anxiety. I waste so much food! My advice would be to share an entree with someone else. Buffets are not my friend. We had dinner with Cinderella while at Disney World. It was an all you can eat buffet. I was in the bathroom vomiting while my daughter danced with Prince Charming! Thank goodness we have video.

My best advice is to plan ahead. The more you plan for your next day, the less anxiety you will feel. ALWAYS have our vitamins and plan for "just in case". If you're planning to be gone for four hours, have enough snacks, vitamins, and water for twelve.

As of this morning, I weighed in at 172.6. Down 29.6#.

Feeling fantabulous!

Day 19 post op. 179.2 lbs as of this morn. Feeling amazing. Getting my 10,000 steps in a day. Can't wait to be given the okay to exercise again. Spent the day going through my closet the other day. I must say it feels pretty good to try clothes on and see that they are too big. ???? I've found liquid whey protein isolate from Amazon that has been a lifesaver. I'm just not eating enough to get my protein in yet. I'll post a pic with this update. It's thick but tolerable. Will take pics of my incisions and post tomorrow. Healing nicely. Leaving for the beach next Saturday. Actually not dreading being in a swimsuit in public.

Day 11 post-op

Pain has mostly subsided (yay). The best piece of advice is this: LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! Don't push yourself too much. For me, I'll have a great day, over do it, and pay for it the next day. ???? If I can learn to pace myself on m good days, I think every day will be a good one.

Weighed in at 182.4. Down 19.8 since 5/1 when I began my liquid diet. Started all vitamins and supplements this week. Between those, and my prescription meds, I feel like all I do is take meds. My nine year old now yells out "medication time" when my 15 minute timer goes off on my phone.

My next piece of advice: When you are going to be away from home, PLAN PLAN PLAN. I had my first post-op appt today, and took
My daughter to a festival after so I knew I'd be away from home most of the day. Last night I packed all vitamins and supplements. I got out my little lunch bag as a reminder to pack my waters and protein shakes. Made the day nearly stress free.

Doc is very pleased with my progress thus far. Moving to some reg food already. Going
to take things SLOWLY. I'll be in touch and let our know how it goes. ????

Baritastic app is a MUST. I've set reminders for each of my daily meds. There is even a timer for chewing, and drinking water before/after meals. Cannot over emphasize how Bariatric friendly this app is. It keeps track of water drank, protein eaten, weight, inches lost, and BMI. It also communicates with my Fitbit to track my steps/exercise, and my wifi scale. ????

Last, but not least, I see the results already and I'm feeling better every day. I have yet to make it back to 10,000 steps a day though. I'll get there.

Feel free to ask me anything. I'm an open book.
