WORTH IT
Hi RealSelfers! Just popping in with a quick update. Healing is going well, scars are changing some, appear a little darker. I started Skinmedica scar gel 3 weeks ago, not really long enough to see if it's making a difference. I have a little piece of suture poking out near the bottom of my left areola. It's the little white dot on the pic. I've had this happen a couple times and it's resolved itself both times. A little scab forms and then one day the scab including suture falls off. Its not painful or anything, just a bit of a pain in the butt since it rubs on anything it touches. Sleeping in a bra is getting old, I'm ready to let them hang free, lol. The best parts so far have been the way I feel in general, the way my clothes fit, stomach sleeping and hugs without those rocks getting in the way. Wishing a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, enjoy!

Are you back to normal exercise activity yet? I'm getting a lift with my explant on March 3rd. I love your results!

Thanks! I haven't returned to weight training yet, only cardio. I definitely feel ready for weights now so I'll start slowly. Congratulations on your upcoming explant and lift!

Thanks for sharing your updates pics. Looking great. You give me hope because I've been afraid of what explant results will look like. I have a small frame and can't wait to look "lighter".

Thanks so much for your story, you've given me the courage I need to remove my very uncomfortable breasts .. I have had mine in for over 4 years and my health has declined ever since .. including fibromyalgia.. i am 50 years old 5'2 and I went from a 32b to a 32dd ... I'm hoping my overall health improves when there removed... thanks again for sharing your courage! Have a happy and healthy new year!!

Congratulations on your decision. I'm so glad my story was helpful to you. Sometimes it really helps to know you're not alone. I hope your health improves after explant. I'd love to hear about your results. I wish you health and happiness in the new year too.

Thanks I will let you know how I am feeling after my surgery... hope to remove them end of January or early February , it depends on how busy the surgeon is....I'm going back to the same doc that did my implants.

Your breasts look beautiful. Did you have the capsule removed as well? I'm interested in removing my implants and wanted to know. Thank you!!

Thank you Lola1978! I did not have my capsules removed. I left it to my doctors discretion. He said they were very thin and thought they should be left alone. I didn't experience any health related implant illness so I'm comfortable with the decision. Discuss your situation with your PS and do what you feel comfortable with. If you decide to explant I wish you the best on the other side!

Thank you! Also, how was his bedside manner? And how was he in terms of price? I moved up to Mooresville from Ft Lauderdale in August and I'm shocked that it seems doctors here charge for a consultation. In South Florida, 90% of surgeons don't charge for a consult. But that's probably because there's so much competition.

Dr. Timmons did not charge for a consult. He's the only PS I saw that didn't charge. He also followed up with a personal letter after the consult, which I really appreciated. His bedside manner is great, he took time to talk to me and really listened to my concerns and expectations. I also appreciated that he was honest about the outcome that he expected without being a jerk about it. Other PS tried to convince me that I wouldn't be happy with an explant without replacement but Dr. Timmons didn't do that. Good luck with your search!

Hello RealSelf family! 3 weeks have flown by. I made it through Thanksgiving and even some Black Friday shopping. Feeling really good, almost back to 100%. I've started my workouts, up to 15-20 minutes per day with no problems. Limited to treadmill and elliptical for now. The glue finally peeled off. That stuff is seriously sticky! I'm so pleased with the progress so far. The shape continues to improve. I was scared of the scars but Dr Timmons incision work is truly fantastic. It's funny how when your boobs are no longer your focus you notice other things about yourself. My booty definitely looks bigger to me now and I like it! Heyyy! I've lost about 4 lbs since surgery, not sure why but I'll take that too, heyyy! I've attached a few pics from different angles. Loving the small boob life. Can't wait to buy pretty bras!

Thank you! I read your story and my heart goes out to you. What did you decide to do?
November 30, 2016
Yay! You're right - smaller boob's only accentuates an amazing bum! Hahahahahaahah I totally thought the same thing. Has anyone noticed your smaller? You look great! Nobody has noticed mine at the gym -or they are just being polite and acting like they haven't. Either way - I'm glad I don't feel like I have to hide them anymore!

The first week I was super self conscious, wondering if anyone noticed. If anyone has noticed they haven't said anything. That might be kinda awkward, lol. I agree it feels good to just be me and not hide them anymore. :-)

You look amazing!!! I only hope that my explant and lift go as well as yours did. You look truly beautiful and so natural. I have been questioning whether I should have smaller implants put in as I was a C cup prior but after seeing your great results it gives me that extra bit of belief it will look good. I'm looking forward to my workouts being more productive with smaller breasts. Thank you for all the details information and positive attitude. All the best!

Awww, thank you maddy32. I'm so glad my review has been helpful to you. Believe me, I understand the anxiety and fear of the unknown before your surgery but I can assure you that being on the other side and implant free is a blessing. I wish you the best on your journey, it's going to turn out great!

Hello everyone! I went for my one week post op today and Dr Timmons is pleased with my healing, yay! I'm pleased too. I asked a bunch of questions today that may be helpful to you ladies too. He expects the asymmetry to improve as swelling on the right comes down. It's improved a bunch in a week. Both breasts are softening and the shape is changing for the better. So nice to have warm, soft, jiggly breasts. I'd forgotten what it felt like! The glue that he used on the stitches has a purple tint so the scars appear darker than they really are. He expects the glue to start peeling off within 2-3 weeks of surgery. I'm very pleased with the placement of the stitches. They gave me a tube of Skinmedica scar gel that I can start when the glue peels off. I can sleep on my side using a pillow. I'm soooo glad. Sleeping at an incline isn't the most comfortable. I can start back at the gym slowly, he suggested I do 20% of my norm to start and listen to my body. I'll try the treadmill or elliptical. No weights for now. I go back in 6 weeks. I'm so pleased so far. I was scared to take the leap but I'm so glad I did.

Looking great! I'm goI got back to the gym today too and no weights for another four weeks too for me, do you have to keep them compressed? My doc says I have to keep them compressed for two months.

No I don't have to keep them compressed but I do have to wear a bra at all times. I live for the 30 minutes/day during my shower time that they're free :-)
