Support for VSG

I know that VSG is simply a tool to help me on my journey... and even though I do not have a surgery date yet, I believe that it is so important for me to have as much support as possible before, during and most importantly after. Even though RS is my main lol and my nutritionist (that I met with once) seemed to be great & knowledgeable... she is not going to be there holding my hand... or when I am alone... so I am wondering what has worked for some of you??? Any info is def appreciated!! ;)

Hello all. First of all, I would like to thank...

Hello all. First of all, I would like to thank everyone on RS for sharing their experiences... for being the support & inspiration that I have needed... & without any of you even knowing it, you all have made me feel not alone. Let's rewind to what brought me to that point, I struggled w/my weight since I was 7 or 8 & after trying everything in the books, I was still not able to maintain any weight loss. After having a daughter of my own at 25, I knew it was up to me to break this unhealthy cycle of yo-yo dieting. I want nothing more than to be the one to show her how to take care of herself - mind, body and soul... & I need to be alive & healthy to be that example... As a single mother, it is up to me to do all these things. I know some of you ladies can relate! I have been researching the VSG procedure for over 3 years. I went to a bariatric surgeon in 2011 & even went to another one in 2013 & when I spoke to my family both times about my decision, they made me feel guilty for wanting to do this... like I was just looking for an easy solution... God Bless them for trying to understand but they were not able to... Anyways, no sense in dwelling in the past because 3rd time's the charm!! I know this is my missing tool to my get fit journey... so I researched yet again and in April I met with Dr. Friedman. I have since completed all pre-op requirements. So now I am just waitingggggg for that approval & surgery date!! Hopefully September will be my lucky month! & this time I have not been so open to anyone but my mother about my decision... lol I can only hope my journey will inspire someone, just as you all have done for me! Will update ASAP when I get any info!
