Almost 3 weeks post op!

I'll be 3 weeks post op this coming Wednesday and I am feeling great! When I went into the office to get my cast off I was a little shocked and worried because of how swollen my nose was underneath the cast, however, I told myself that I need to be patient and trust the process. It takes a whole year to be fully healed anyways!

Dr. Most ended up using cartilage from my ear instead of just using a fascia graft to raise my radix, so now my radix isn’t so deep - which I love! My ear is still healing and has dissolvable stitches. My nose is so much straighter from the front and from my profile! Although my nose is still slightly crooked in the front, but Dr. Most did tell me he couldn’t guarantee to get me 100% straight but he could get me straighter, and he did! Also note that getting someone 100% straight is almost impossible in rhinoplasty and is the most difficult thing to do - ask any doctor and they will tell you the same. I can also finally breathe through both of my nostrils. However, now that my nose is straighter, you can see the asymmetries in my nostril sizes, which wasn't as apparent as before, but I don't mind too much - I'm only 5'0ft tall and will hardly have anyone looking up my nose from beneath me.

All in all, I am super pleased with my results. I am looking forward for my final result, which may take longer than the typical year since I had a larger nose beforehand. I’ll share my pics so far of my new nose!

Also, my 1 month follow up is Oct. 26th! Feel free to reach out with any questions.

2 Days Post-Op!

I finally had my rhinoplasty on 9/16! I decided to not go with a chin implant after all. They make you take a COVID-19 test a day before surgery to make sure you are negative before your procedure. I live 3 hours away so day of surgery my boyfriend and I drove down and got there at around 12:15 PM. He dropped me off at the ENT clinic and went to go get the hotel ready so that it would be all set up for me after I was done. My appointment was at 1 PM and check in was at 12:30 PM. I met with a nurse and she had me take a pregnancy test before having me get dressed in my surgery gown. I then met with the anesthesiologist where he explained what he was going to provide me with and I did tell him I was nervous about going under but he reassured me everything was going to be fine and he was going to give me a relaxer and anti nausea IV that would help calm me. After that Dr. Most and his fellow Dr. Kim came into the room to go over the plan and answer any questions I had before starting the procedure. Finally I was taken into the surgery room where the anesthesiologist and nurse were getting everything set up. I lay on the surgery bed and the anesthesiologist starts giving me IVs. The anesthesiologist mentioned how he was going to put the oxygen mask on me and reverse count however, I don't even remember doing any of that! Before I knew it I was awake and everything was already done. Dr. Most and Dr. Kim both came in a few moments after I woke up and asked how I was feeling. Dr. Most said he got me pretty straight since I had a very severe deviated septum and one of the nurses kept complementing my new nose saying it was so cute and that I'm going to love it. I was also able to breathe out of my left nostril for the first time of my life which was amazing! My boyfriend eventually came to pick me up and we went back to our hotel. I wasn't too loopy and felt fine. I had hardly no swelling the first day. However, I have since gotten pretty swollen due to not being able to ice my face during our drive back home, so I will be spending today doing that! So far I am in love with my side profile! My frontal view is so much straighter, although its harder to grasp how exactly it looks like right now with the cast on. The pain meds help a lot and I would say the main pain that bothers me is where they took the fascia graft from behind my ear. Other than that, my throat feels fine and I can still taste. I can't fully smile like I used to but I think that's because I'm very swollen and numb still. Anywho, I am uploading before/after pics so you can see the results for yourself!

Pre-Op

I had my pre-op on 9/3 and they were able to let me know what to expect from surgery and provided me with papers with all the information as well! I decided to go with adding a chin implant which raised the price from $14,900 to $18,300 total. My surgery date is 9/16! So excited for my new face!
