Tulsa Physician/MD

Procedure date 10/11 and 10/12 of 2021. Total of 12 hours. 2,180 total grafts. 656 singles (used to create my new hairline), 1,149 doubles, and 375 3’s/4’s. PRP crown/vertex. No physical exercise until day 11 post-op (tennis) and no weight-lifting until day 15. I returned to full-time work/clinic 48 hours post-procedure. By 21 days post procedure, I estimate 80% of donor hair was still present. By week 5, about 80% donor hair had fallen out. During that time frame, not only did donor hair fall out (as expected), but so did a decent amount of native /non-transplanted hair. “Shock loss” is expected of the donor hair but I was surprised by loss of native/non-donor hair loss. However, this may occur due to “shock” as the procedure is a form of trauma to the scalp or as a side effect of local anesthetic (including epinephrine, which I did require). However, native hair will re-grow. Overall, very satisfied. Donor site healed beautifully. I will give updated pictures next at 4-6 months post-op. Once again, a very very pleasant experience with Dr. Arocha (FYI he made all 2, 180 incisions and planned the entire outlay/hairline/density).
