Surgery Today Want Well but It’ll Be a Long Wait on Results

I’ve always had a high hairline that I wanted to be brought forward and after researching into it came to Dr. Bloxham and booked my surgery at the consult. The surgery went well according to doc, but we’ll have to wait to see the results and as a woman, I’m going to have to wait even longer to see the hair grow to catch up to the rest of my hair.

I must say the team at the office was wonderful, Stephanie, Diamond, Bebe, and Bella were fantastic today. I just hope everything grows in as we hope and it wasn’t all for naught!!!

It was an FUT transplant not FUE

It was an FUT transplant not FUE. They cut the strip of skin from the back of my head, stapled me up, extracted the hairs and then re-implanted individually and some in groups of two into my forehead.

I always had a very high hairline / big forehead and I thought this would be the best way to bring the hairline forward / down. I read an article on daily mail about dr. Bloxhams practice and saw good reviews so I figured yolo let’s do it.

How's the healing? Were you under anesthesia or was it local? Looking forward to seeing your results as they continue!

I’m three days out and on regular Tylenol. It doesn’t hurt so much but the fluid draining is leaving festoons of fluid under my eyes. (Trying not to lean forward) Going to have to wait a few more days. Doc says it’s normal and nothing to do but wait. All local anesthesia. I would start feeling the pin pricks and I told the doc I can handle it but he insisted on topping up the anesthesia injections because otherwise it would increase my blood pressure and bleeding at the sites.

Thanks for the information. Be kind to yourself in the healing, I've had 1 scalp PRP (which is nothing compared to your procedure) and it took me 3 days to recover w/swelling and headaches. That's great they could do it with a local. I'm sure the swelling (and festoons) will go down soon. Really excited to see your progress as you continue to heal. Oh, how big was the strip they cut from the back? Best wishes!

It was about a centimeter wide and then “from ear to ear” but not really. It was more like a u shape rather than a line across. I think they transplanted 2500-2700 hairs. My sister did the prp and she thought she could see thicker growth but when I asked my doc about it he said he stopped doing prps because he wasn’t seeing results.
