No Regrets in Choosing Dr Prima Tossaborvon at Hairsmith Clinic
Where do I start? I actually have a lot of emotion writing this.
I have just finished my 2nd session of FUE with Hairsmith Clinic (both performed by the wonderful and attentive Dr Prima Tossaborvon). 1500 grafts to the crown a few months ago, and 2200 to the front area just a few days ago... (plus a few extra minor FUE grafts to cover some scarring I had elsewhere).
I did my research, I exhaustively weighed up my options, and this was not an uninformed or "impulse" procedure for me. But I was (like many of us) hesitant due to the significant cost, and I continually wondered "am I really worth it, and what difference will it really make?". It has taken me several years to save up the money, and find the right time in my busy life to do this.
Of course as yet I don't know the results, as it takes about a year or more to see the final outcome - so I can't comment on that, yet. I'll report back.
But... what I can say, and why I wanted to write this review is that I know I made the very very best decision to choose Hairsmith Clinic in Bangkok. The professionalism, the staff, the hygiene, the equipment, the explanation of the techno-medical aspects, the booking/logistics process, the clarity of all costs, and right through to the follow-up care. There is a strong ethos in Hairsmith that "no-question-is-a-silly-question" and this is a sense I got at every stage of the process, from initial consultation until the very last moment that I was waved off yesterday by a very sweet and competent team with my new head of grafts (it felt a bit like taking a baby home from the hospital... it's all up to me now, to take the best care of to ensure survival).
You can see it in the eyes of the staff, and particulary Dr Prima Tossaborvon. She really cares, you are not just "another client" to her, as she takes an enormous amount of time to carefully consult and listen to what you want to achieve. She stood back, looking from every angle, endlessly adjusting her mark-up lines on my head, ensuring that the grafts would look naturally placed (not like a row of plantation pine trees un-naturally bursting up my forehead). She discussed candidly how to maximize placement of the FUE grafts so as to keep the cost down for me. She totally gets this is a big investment for her clients, and there is no pressure, at all. Although this is one of the top clinics in Bangkok, all-in-all the cost was lower than some other less-charming clinics which I looked into, who seemed more focused on either pushing me to FUT (no way !!!), or after lots of hidden charges are tacked on, didn't turn out that cheap anyway. I did my homework, and I do not regret one Thai Baht paid. What's the point of saving a couple of hundred dollars only to walk out wondering if the surgeon really took as much care as you'd hope, or worse... if the quality of the hair transplant makes you look like Frankenstein. Dr Prima Tossaborvon dispeled all of those concerns for me, simply due to her earnest and heartfelt empathy for me as a person, struggling with hair loss. She makes no hollow promises, no unrealistic claims, and her extensive experience coupled with her state-of-the-art clinic ensure that whatever the outcome, I've given myself the very best chance (and therefore value for money) by choosing her and her wonderful team.
One of my big concerns was scarring in the FUE donor area (I was fearing very visible pin-head sized scars) as I intend to continue shaving my head for the next 12 months until it all comes growing through in full glory. And regardless, I'll probably wear my hair short-ish anyway in future which probably means clippers to the back area. I really didn't want anyone to know I'd undergone this procedure so the fear of a pin-cushion scar effect on the back of my scalp weighed heavy on my mind. However, it was very clear about 2 weeks after my 1st session (for the crown) that the machine Hairsmith uses must have the most minuscule incision diameter for FUE extraction, because there are virtually NO scars (I'm thrilled). Somebody could sit behind me on a bus, starring at the back of my shaved head and not notice a thing.
So... as I enter the next 6-12 months of wait-and-see... I am hopeful, but realistic. I'm never going to look like Michael Bolton or Fabio, and I really don't know what my end result will actually look like yet. But, I feel so satisfied that whatever result I get (largely coming down to my own age, hair density, etc) it will be the very best possible due to placing myself in the hands of the Hairsmith Team. I have absolutely no regrets, I made the right decision, and I cannot recommend them enough. THANKS to the Hairsmith team, at this early stage you've already boosted my confidence, and given me optimism and hope for my appearance I'd not felt for a very long time. The rest is up to me and my genes.
Good luck to all hair-seekers... oh, and you ARE worth it - we all are.
