If you are reading this please avoid Dr. Umar at all cost. Do your research and look into a Doctor who cares about their patients.

The entire process of receiving a hair transplant from Doctor Umar was sketchy now in hindsight. I write this in hopes that I help someone.

The day I arrived to receive my Hair Transplant from Dr. Umar I was given the sedatives and pain killers to take before getting in the chair for surgery. After receiving these sedatives Dr. Umar then drew the line to show me where the hair would be. I was heavily sedated at the time so could not really tell where it was at but I knew it was not what we had drawn in our past meetings. During surgery he was rarely present (If you want him to participate heavily in the surgery you must pay extra). His assistants did all of the work. After the surgery we took some photos and I left.

At around the 3 month mark when you are supposed to begin to see slight signs of growth I had absolutely none at all. Which was concerning and I questioned Dr. Umar about this to which he replied that everyones growth is different. So, I assumed maybe I was just a slow grower and that things would change. At my 6 months appointment my hair was the same if not worse. At this point I began to really question Dr. Umar about the fact that we arent seeing any signs of growth and that the scars are still heavily present. Dr. Umar insisted that this is normal. Finally, at the one year mark there was essentially no growth. You would have to be standing right in front of me and look directly at my scalp to literally see a few strands of hair in the area.

Of course I pointed this out and Dr. Umar attempted to question whether I had any history of "psychiatric" issues. Essentially gaslighting me and calling me crazy stating that there was plenty of hair growth. I grabbed the mirror and asked him to show me but he didnt.

Some other red flags were I saw in total 3 new assistants over the 12 months span. So either he has a high turnover right from people quitting or I just happened to never see the same assistant. But I didnt ask specifically about one. I was told that she no longer worked there.

On top of this Dr. Umar will attempt to sell you a bunch of his product which he states is part of the treatment plan but not of it is FDA approved for treating hair loss. Its just a bunch of his extremely marked up product. He also claimed that me not using it was the reason I did not get good growth. Keep in mind I use the 2 FDA approved products: Minoxidil and Finasteride.

Overall all I can do is leave this review in genuine hopes that no one else has to deal with Dr. Umar. Please do your research on other Doctors.
