6000 grafts, 10.5 months post-op
10.5 month follow up
I’ve tried to hold off getting a haircut on the top to see how covered up the crown would look. Still can see a little bit in the back, but as I’ve mentioned in prior updates, it looks much better than before. I’ll probably get another transplant for the crown in December when I have my Christmas break given I have enough grafts.
Pre-Op Pictures
Here's what my head looked like pre-op. The other one I took of myself wasn't the best. Better angles on this one to give you an idea of the severity of my hair loss. According to Dr Acar, it didn't follow the Norwood pattern, but the amount of loss was the equivalent of about a Norwood-6.
8 months post-op, 6000 grafts
As mentioned before, the crown still needs a little more time and maybe even another transplant, but it looks much, much better than it did 8 months ago. Front also doesn’t look the same either in the sense that I brushed it differently. The 6 month photo looks like I combed it over to one side. Sides and back have no signs of FUE extraction. One of my absolute favorite things since getting my hair transplant is that all of my friends have noticed that I’ve looked different, and when I show them how I have looked 8 months ago, they don’t realize that the same person in the picture was me. Overall, very satisfied with what I’m seeing.
With the ongoing pandemic, I packed my bags and drove from Philadelphia to Chicago and had forgotten all of my medication. Instead of the finasteride, I was forced to purchase saw palmetto. I am still taking 5000 mg biotin and a multivitamin daily, too. Since I forgot the brand of shampoo from Cosmedica, I bought one on Amazon from a company called Pura D’Or. Picture of the bottle is included.
