About a year in
I do have dog ears but honestly don't care. I had a lot of breast tissue to remove and wore improperly sized bra so you know, that's my fault.
I'm happy with my results. Every time I put a short on without a binder I breathe a sigh of relief. It is definitely worth it for larger chested trans men. It's a literal weight off your chest.

Still going wellish.
So to preface this, I should have said it sooner during the process but I had only had stitches once before in my life that I remember.
So I started spitting stitches around week 5. So far I've lost 3 that I've noticed /haven't come out with s abs falling off. As a result my right side still has an open wound. I'm worried about it but also seeing my gp tomorrow and will mention it during. I also see Dr Stanwix may 7th and while I would hope it's closed by then, I think my left over fat is just pulling at that incision and that spot had an entire length of crumbly weird plastic thread come out. About a quarter size wound is still there. I'm doing my best to keep the area clean and well taken care of but I'm alway worried about doing it wrong haha.
That said, my front lines look great!! And my nipples are pink and look healthy. So glad they didn't die / go through complications. I love them.
I had that original tingly sensation right around my left nipple but not the nipple itself. (yet) I'm hoping that it creeps in as my sensation comes back.
Even if I have a current complication with my wound healing I'm still very happy with my results. Here's hoping I close up well.

After 8 Years of Living Stealth I've Never Been Happier with my Body.
I don't even know where to begin. Honestly I was hung up about how you even start the process to get this kind of surgery. I had obtained a referal two years ago from my endo and he was continually shocked I hadn't gone through with it. (I work a very physical job that's hard to take time off for.)
Turns out it's as easy and just filling out a form on his website. The process of getting an appointment was smooth despite my personal phone blunders.
The initial consultation felt weird honestly. If you've never been in a plastic surgeon's office it feels very out of your price range the first visit, lol. Everyone was exceptionally nice and checked in with the lobby often as he (Dr Stanwix) had been tied up with surgery and was running late. (really didn't mind, you can't leave mid surgery, so it's not like it was his fault he'd run late.) Once he was in, I was seen very quickly and I know I'm the only one that made it awkward because I just felt very nervous. He was quick spoken but not hard to follow, I got the impression he just didn't want to waste my time. I feel assured if I had been able to better collect my thoughts I'd have had an easier time during that visit.
After talking to him Deb, the financial advisor(?) asked me if I wanted to make an appointment. I was actually nervous to meet Deb? I had seen in other reviews that she was rude. She really isnt. She's very nice and went over my options for scheduling and payment concisely and without confusion. I really don't see where the other review I read was coming from, I really thought she was very helpful.
After getting my payments squared away I just had to get to the 27th for surgery.
OK so my only weird feeling about the location was that it was done at VA Physicians for Women. But, I can honestly see why since the surgery was to remove you know, my breasts.
Day of surgery I was very anxious and it took two tries to find VAPW, (another office on the first floor told me I was in the wrong building, I wasn't. It's on the second floor.) The intake nurse assumed I was visiting someone in for a procedure and I had to explain I was there for, you know, me. But after that I was shown where to wait, as the surgical wing has its own waiting room, which I liked.
The most awkward part of the process was getting changed into what I was allowed to wear for surgery, which were socks, my underwear, a gown and a hair net. (the hair net was a surprise! I didn't know you wore one for that.) my nurse was very very nice. I feel terrible I don't remember her name but she was soft spoken and is easily the best nurse I've ever had put a needle in me. I didn't feel her set my IV at all. The IV made my hand cold and I didn't like it but I atleast wasn't thirsty anymore. I saw my anesthesiologist and the surgical nurse first, then Dr Stanwix. This time he took much for rime talking to me and explained everything he was going to do in some detail. There was actually an air to this conversation that was very calming. He didn't talk quickly and took his time marking me up for surgery. We talked about scar shapes and the resizing of my areolas. After that I was given something to relax a little and led into the surgical theater. I was given a mask to breathe in and then woke up in a comfy chair with warm blankets.
After coming to I was allowed to catch my bearings until I was able to get dressed and go home.
So far recovery has been very easy. I'm almost 2 weeks post op, in not too much pain and doing well.
My only real suggestion is that if you are a fuzzy dude, shaving your back or anywhere that will touch the post op binder will greatly reduce how itchy you are. Until my husband did it for me a week in I didn't even know how itchy I was before hand and having to bend to scratch was making how sore I was worse.
Will add an update after my 1 month check in with the surgeon. Over all so far a great experience and I would definitely recommend them to any other transman worried about the process. They do their best to not waste your time but also go over everything very well with you before hand. I often had my questions answered before I could even ask them. That said write down any questions you may have and take someone with you to be a second pair of ears.
