When I turned 50 I looked in the mirror and...
When I turned 50 I looked in the mirror and thought, “Ugh! I look like the melting [RS bleep] in Raiders of the Lost Ark!” I just had to do something about the toll gravity had taken on my face.
My eyes seemed to be the first place to start my “renovation.” My upper eyelids have always been heavy - a genetic trait from my mother’s side of the family - and age has only exacerbated the problem. I also have always had hollows under my eyes. This problem I tried to solve in the past with fillers. Little did I know that this treatment would create bags under my eyes (!!!!) So if you’re thinking about fillers as a quick solution - don’t!!
In my heart I knew I wanted Dr. Nayak perform my surgery, but I thought I’d do my due diligence and see a couple of doctors before choosing my surgeon. I did tried to speak to one other doctor in addition to Dr. Nayak and that did not go well!
When I met Dr. Nayak, everything about my consultation confirmed that Dr Nayak was the choice for me - his professional, yet friendly demeanor, his empathetic staff, the comfortable office. Telling a stranger what you dislike most about your appearance can be a bit awkward, but Dr. N. and his staff were understanding and not the least judgmental.
My surgery was effortless. Dr. Nayak performs all surgeries at his office, so it’s one-stop-shopping. No outpatient center, no payment for this group or appointment with that group.
I did have double vision for a few hours after my surgery. It was a bit scary, but my vision did clear (just an FYI for anyone considering this procedure!) I had black eyes for a couple of weeks, but the bruising wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. The tiny incisions at my brow line were barely visible immediately after surgery and were totally gone within a few months.
I don’t think I realized the improvement in my appearance until I saw my before and after photos. It was truly dramatic. And a year later, I think the result is even better than it was when my photos were taken. In fact, in three unrelated situations, people have told me they thought I was no more than 35 years old. I know this sounds like hollow flattery, but the surprise on their faces when I told them my age was genuine.
I have since gone back to Dr. Nayak’s office for rhinoplasty, facials and fillers (not around my eyes, of course!!). Whether visiting the surgery side of the office or the spa side, I have always received the best, most courteous treatment. I can’t recommend Dr. Nayak more sincerely.
