I went from not even an A cup to a 34 DD using saline implants with 550 cc's, under the muscle. I already had two children, so my breasts were ready. I chose Dr. Mitts after reviewing much of his before and after photos of ALL his cosmetic surgery procedures. He has been doing cosmetic surgery for over 30 years. I visitied his office for a FREE consult, bringing my pictures of ideal breasts with me and his awesome nurse whos name I forget but has been with him forever, spent a good amount of time advising me & answering questions. He originally advised me to use a smaller implant with the same amount of cc's to avoid any overhang, since I have such a broad breast bone, but petite chest. I would have been closer to a full 34 C, 34 D. My fiance at the time really loved large breasts and suggested that I go larger, that it would look great, so I asked for the larger implants. Doctor used the larger implant but same amount of saline, so I ended up with a very full look, but not as much projection. My procedure was SO easy and I recovered in less than a week. I didn't have any of the "heavy" pressure on chest feeling that I read so much about and not much pain, either. I was prescribed some antibiotics and something for pain, but I don't remember having to use the pain meds much. I did end up with some overhang after my by implants settled & they have dropped considerably since I had the procedure done 10 years ago. It is a little difficult to find bras and I don't wear shirts in my normal size since my breasts are large for my frame. The still look great, but if you really look close, you can tell they are implants. That is my only regret, having gone with a larger size than what was suitiable for my small frame. It was fun when I was 23 & got some attention from the guys, but now it's just a pain in the rear finding bathing suit tops and the PTA moms can be a little judgmental. I am ready to have them redone, but have been advised that I should wait till I'm done having any kids. I just got remarried and figure I will have 2 more so I'm waiting. When I do have them redone, I will go with the smaller implant.

Thank you for sharing your story 9 years post op! I agree with you. If you don't have any complications or major issues with your current implants, I would postpone a revision until post children. Just curious, what are your stats? I also appreciate your tip about how fun the larger breasts can be when your young, but as you get older, you appreciate a smaller size for your frame. In the future, do you think you will go with saline again or perhaps try silicone? Take care!

I'm 5'4, 110lbs, all boobs at 34DD. lol Not really, but that's how I feel, lately. When I had a few more pounds on me, at like 130lbs, they were a little more balanced. I do have some rippling with the saline & I've heard that you don't get that with the silicone, but I will have to do some more research on the possible health effects before making a decision. I think that when I reduce the implant size, I will be able to keep them around 500cc's but have an entirely different look. Most important to me is that I loose the overhang on the sides. Too much side boob is a not a good thing. When I went with the larger implant size, I was most concerned that the smaller wouldn't cover the width of my chest and look very "fake". I wish I had listened to my doctor when he advised me that they would settle no matter what and likely give me a bunch of overhang. I'm also looking forward to them being lighter, as I have some neck and back pain.

At your petite size, it makes sense that you might experience some neck and back pain. I don't think women take this into consideration when going larger. I wouldn't worry about the PTA moms, they're just jealous. If it wasn't your boobs, they would pick on your for your healthy weight! Thank you for taking the time to help educate and support the community!
