Fresh Tattoo Removal, Scared

So... I've wanted to get a forest forearm tattoo for years. When I've go my tattoo about a month ago I regret it instantly, although the tattoo is not finished yet, I don't like the already finished parts of it, and I don't like the idea of it being on my forearm. From the day I've got this tattoo, I'm in a terrible depression.
I always think only about the tattoo, and nothing more. It hinders me very much, and sometimes it seems that I will never even be able to get rid of it. I loved my forearm very much before I got a tattoo, and now it seems to me that I just disfigured my hand.
Cover-up is not an option for me. I want this tattoo removed completely, but I know there is no guarantee for complete removal, but even if 90-95% of the tattoo is not visible, and there will be no scars left, I will be happy.
I would like to know if there is anyone here who was in a similar situation, and did they got their tattoo removed.
I booked my first treatment for October 4, 2018. *Dermatologist with a PicoWay laser system.

I hope so! At the moment the depression is just so bad that I always wish I could go back in time... Always thinking about how good my life was and would continue, if I didn't get this tattoo. But as soon as I see the reviews on this forum, it gives me hope...

Hey brotha, I felt exactly the same way when I got my first and only tattoo (inner bicep). I was depressed asf, couldn't eat, sleep, and was consumed by thoughts only about the tattoo. I envied anyone with no ink but the worst part of the entire situation was the fact that most of my friends or even my twin brother couldn't relate. They thought I was crazy for feeling the way I did. I realized that this was something only myself had to push through and it can go one of two ways. You can remain depressed and sulk in your own misery OR understand you made a mistake and do something about it. IMO take it as a lesson learned and book a laser consultation, it will ease your mind. My buddy had his entire hand tattoo removed. His hand is golden, 100 percent gone and it was color so it can be done. Do your research on a good technician though and look for before & after pics. In the meantime bro, improve yourself in anyway possible. Lift weights and hit the gym hard, pick up an instrument, go biking, etc. All that stuff really helped me get through the initial depression. Trust me, it will get easier but it takes a little time. I still have the odd negative thought towards my tat (especially when I work out biceps lol) but generally I'm no longer obsessed over it. I acknowledge it, and know it will be gone in the next year or so. In fact I've only had two sessions on it over the last 3 years. It could have been removed by now but It doesn't bother me like it use to. At the end of the day, atleast you got your health, it's just a little ink. Be thanful it's not a full sleeve aha .. Anyways don't stop living life dude, hell I just joined the army so in reality, my tat is the least of my worries now lol. You'll be good my man, it'll get better. Cheers

I’m going through this right now. I had a tattoo I thought looked lame so I had it added to by an artist who did other work for me I loved. He sharpies it on and I didn’t realize it more more of the exact same thing. It’s awful. I’m so down about it.

I have only black and gray colors, no white color.
I hope the gray shading trees will be removed after the 1-2 sessions.
After I got the tattoo the skin healed quick without any troubles. Also the tattoo was made by a professional artist, not an amateur.

Hi! When do yo have your first treatment? I also have a very black and big tattoo and already had my first session

My first session is on the 4th of october, but I don't know if I should start the removal now... The tattoo is fresh and the ink is very new, I got the tattoo only about a month and a half ago, and I heared that if I start the removal process now, on a fresh tattoo, it will take much more sessions and can lead to scarring...
Good luck on removing the tattoo!

I've had a test patch about 3 weeks ago (with a PicoSure laser, not PicoWay), and I see so far very minimal results (if any). Don't know if I should start the removal process now... The tattoo is very new and I've been told that it will take much more sessions to remove a new tattoo, also it can lead to scarring if starting the process on a fresh ink... This tattoo really hinders me, but I don't know what to do... Scars are also not an option.

I started my treatment when my tattoo was a month old, my laser technician also performed thousands of removals.. I’m not sure why they say it’s not good to treat newer tattoos when they say it’s easier to treat since the ink hasn’t settled in deep into the skin layer.

The technician said that the ink itself maybe haven't settled yet, but the ink is so fresh, so black that it will be very hard and painful to remove it. She recommended to expose it to the sun so the ink will fade a little. But I just don't want this tattoo anymore... Don't know what to do...

I spoke with 3 technicians. The first said that it's better to start on a new tattoo because the ink hasn't settled yet, the second technician said it's better to wait because the ink is very new and it will be harder to remove and also can result in scarring, and the third didn't said how much treatments I would need, he only said that it's ok to start now.

I really feel for you. I desperately wanted a tattoo in my late teens. My parents are very strict so I never got one. In my 40s now I'm so happy I didn't cos I'm a totally different person now and would be getting it removed.
It seems you will never be happy with this tattoo as it is so new this would normally be the time you love it so laser removal is sensible before you drive yourself crazy.
I have to say I really don't like tattoos now. I found your thread whilst looking for removal advice for my partner who regrets many of his (some look really shite). Don't be deterred by poss side effects (scarring etc) if you moisturise the treated areas you will help your skin recover.
Good luck in whatever you decide!!

How new is your tattoo?

Don’t get discouraged! I’ve had extensive laser treatments on a very large, very black coverup tattoo on my forearm, & I actually see most of my fading between weeks 8-16. When the tattoo is far out on a limb, it takes your immune system a little longer to do its thing.
I’m looking forward to seeing your results, I know it’s going to go well for you! :)
Try your hardest not to scratch it even when it’s itching like crazy! You might want to research massaging the area after the swelling goes down as well. I believe it could be helpful in breaking down any scar tissue that happens underneath the skin, causing textural changes. I have some of this in a multi- coloured sleeve I’m wanting removed. I wish I would’ve tried the massaging back when I started the removal process. Also, maybe speak to the company that’s doing in and see if they offer the C02 treatment to help with textural changes and scarring. I don’t know if it truly helps but the doctor seems to think it does.
Good luck!
