Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation

I had a Fraxel laser treatment done on my face about 3 month ago. About a week after the treatment, scabs fell off, and new skin looked amazing. BUT, a few days later, I started to have HUGE brown spots all over my face, especially under my eyes. It's been 3 month since the treatment, and my post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation is not getting any better. If I had known that I was going to suffer from this horrible condition, I wouldn't have gone through with this treatment. People ask me all the time what I have done to my face. Some people think I am a victim of domestic violence because I have the hyper-pigmentation around my eyes. I am embarrassed to go to public places and show my face.

Thanks for sharing your experience which is very similar to mine (but I had picosure done). You posted this awhile ago but I’m wondering if you have an update and we’re able to do thing about this?

Update on my PIH

ginger2382
It's been a year and 8 months since I had the Fraxel treatment done. I still have PIH on my cheeks, which gets worse noticeably with sun exposure. However, I have found this miracle medication called Transino. It is made by a Japanese company, and when I take it, it get lighter significantly. But, when I stop taking it, my PIH goes back to how it was before. This medication is not supposed to be taken more than 3 month at a time. I am thinking about getting Picosure done on make it even lighter. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you know if you got Melasma? PIH isn't really supposed to come and go like that.

It definitely sounds like you got melasma. That medication is tranexamic acid, which is commonly used against melasma.
