Hi all, this site helped me tremendously before my surgery so that there were very few freak outs. So time to pay it forward. What also helped was that I couldn't wait to get rid of my silicone implants. I had 250 cc implanted 10 years ago into my aa cup breasts. From the very beginning I felt that they were too big. Also, I felt like there was a foreign object in my chest. I couldn't lie down on my stomach or even touch myself sometimes.
Finally, I decided enough is enough and went to see Dr. Berger even though my fiance was none too happy. She suggested an explant with simultaneous fat transfer since I wouldn't have any tissue left otherwise. The surgery took place almost 2 weeks ago. The staff and doctors were extremely friendly and I didn't feel much pain afterwards. It was like a strong case of sore muscles in the lipo areas and no pain in the breasts. What a difference to how I felt after the implant surgery!
During the surgery they discovered that the implant in my left breast had ruptured and I showed the befinnings of a CF. This makes me even more glad to be rid of the implants. I was able to remove the dressing around the sports bra (for compression) after one week and have a first shower - it was heaven. Now I have to wear compression garments and a sports bra for another 2 weeks.
Even though the thread used was the absorbable, I got the knots cut off on Monday since that is supposed to give nicer scars later and reduce the risk of infection. Now I am applying Bepanthen cream twice a day and have inserted breast feeding pads (cut in half) in the sports bra over the scar below the breast. This reduces friction and itching. So far the scars look nicer than they did after the BA surgery.
In summary, nothing is hanging, everything is still black and blue but everyday gets a bit better. I am so happy I finally did it. The only worrying thing is that my left breast is much bigger than my right one. The PS says it is too soon to tell if it will even out. I have to wait out the 3 months. At least it is more easily fixed if they stay assymetrical than with implants.
So anyways I will keep posting about my progress and am attaching some before and after pics for you all. Hope this will be useful for someone else.
