WORTH IT$135
My migraines started at age 13. I have suffered many years of severe headaches and migraines. The headaches were a daily things for me. It became very wearing on me. It was difficult to concentrate or focus on anything. I have seen many doctors for this with no avail. I was put on many different medications for this that was short lived and only slightly helpful. I have been to pain clinics and did biofeedback for the pain. After many years of trying to get some relief I finally decided there was no help for me. I finally decided I could do no more for these painful headaches and just suffered with them till Botox came along. 3 years ago I was reading about a research study about botox for people who had 5 or more headaches a week. I talked to my doctor about this. He put in a claim to the insurance co. for if and It was denied because the fda had not approved it yet. Then after 2 more years later the fda approved it and I got my first treatment. I had my first treatment with botox injections. All 32 of them . It worked. I was finally migraine free for the first time in 53 years of suffering. I did have one bad side effect from it early on. My neck became so week from the botox that I could barley hold my head up. It was a severe side effect and very scary . Finally after 2 months of this the botox wore off and I was able to hold my head up properly. Now every 3 months I get botox treatments in the head neck and upper back I am finally enjoying life with very few headaches. The injections are stressful to go through but is definitely worth It .Due to that serious side effect. the doctor no longer injects that muscle in the back of my neck and I have had problems with it since. I feel I am finally free of headaches all the time now. What a great feeling!

That's wonderful to read! I just had this done last week. How many days into it did your neck get wobbly? I'm on day 5 and so far so good, wondering when I'll be out of the woods. Thanks and congratulations! :)

Hi, The problem with my neck started at about two weeks after the initial botox injections. Now the doctor stays away from that area and I have not had any more trouble like that. Is this your first time getting botox for headaches? I hope it helps you. How often were you getting your headaches? I know how debilitating they can be. Best of luck. Take care . Carol

I just had my fire Botox treatment 3 days ago. Like you they started when I was about 15 yrs old. I'm 62 now and have every kind of medical cocktail and pain management ideas under the sun, to no avail . Caught up in a circle of so many Drs. Half the time I went to the wrong Dr on appt days, which was every week and more then 1 or 2 appts. I felt like a little experimental robot learning dependency on drugs and Drs. Botox worked immediately or I'm having some kind of fluke ( haha ) I too have had som odd neck pain but nothing I couldn't bare as a migraine. Looking forward to finishing my yrs. with some quality of life for a change. So far so very very good!

I am glad you have been getting some relief of your headaches. Botox has helped me like no other treatment .My headaches are rare now with the botox on board.

Wow I am so impressed, I too suffer from migraines since 13, and get a few a week, thankfully taking 400 to 600 mg sublingual whilst I still have the aura usually stops 95% going to full blown migraine and I just end up with nausea and a headache, not the debilitating full migraine that wipes me out for days. I would love to know the sights of injection as my migraines are triggered through my neck too

The injections are put in areas of the head and neck. The doctor finds areas that are sensitive and more painful on each person. I hope you get good relief from your treatments. If you don't find a lot right away it could be just a matter of the doctor adjusting where he injects. It took 2 sessions of treatments before the injections sites were more on target. Some times for a couple days after the shots I feel achy and the doctor said that sometimes happens. Best wishes . Carol

Thank you for sharing your painful story..I've had cortisone injections in the neck and they reduced from 16+ to only 4/6 per month.. I thought I was in Heaven.. I KNOW you understand how debilitating the pain is..so,I'm going this month and get my first in the series.. I hope I don't experience the neck weakness,, but, from your post, I'll mention that to my Doctor..
Again, thank you for sharing..

Do you get any of the youthful benefits? I suffer migraines, not too badly, and thought I could justify having Botox to end headaches AND take a decade off my age

I do get a good benefit by having the botox . I have a deep wrinkle on my forehead between the eyes from squinting due to headaches. The botox has made that disappear completely . It use to be very noticeable. When the doctor injects the botox in that spot it flattens out the wrinkle completely . you would never know I even had a wrinkle there. So I love that extra benefit.
That's terrific, thank you for sharing! Do you still receive the same number of injections, 32?
