My goal is to finally be confident with my self......

My goal is to finally be confident with my self... always being the flat one has always irritated me. I'm thankful I'm at a point in my life where my dream is finally becoming reality! I'm currently 34 a I think. Honestly I haven't ever been measured, and most my bras are hand me downs from friends that have gotten boobs. I nursed my kids, and loved my boobs then! I just want to be proportionate, I do have wider hips. My husband is super supportive, knowing ice been taking about getting them done for, well, or whole 14 year relationship! My ps and I have decided on 550 silicone mentors. He is suggesting over the muscle, and I'm unsure of whether I'm going through the nipple or armpit. My final preop is this Friday.

It's an exciting journey. Congrats on scheduling a date! Just curious, did he say why did he recommend over the muscle?

He said of he goes over the muscle, I wouldn't need general anesthesia, only some kind of pill cocktail since he wouldn't be gong through any muscle. That way I could get silicone for the same price as saline. I just don't want to have a ball as my upper boob, so I'm not sure. He is a very respected surgeon, but I'm really questioning that large of implant as overs.

Only a few weeks away--how exciting. Hip hip hooray. Lol. I am 43 and had 550/600 silicone overs, crease incision, 5 years ago and am very pleased with no issues whatsoever. I guess some patients are better candidates for overs than others and I'm not sure of all the variables that the doctor considers. I do know you have to have enough tissue to "cover" the implant. I didn't feel like I had a ton of tissue and I have thin skin with somewhat poor elasticity. I am also translucent white. Even with all that going on overs worked out great for me, although, obviously, everyone is different. Just for reference I am 5'4'' about 135 pounds dressed and I went from a deflated 36 B to a full 36D....A couple of thoughts: hardly anyone does armpit placement anymore. Doctors say they have a difficult time with proper placement and I think the general consensus is that it is more likely to have less than optimal results than crease or nipple incisions. ( I thought saline implants had to be used for that as well ). I would seriously look into it. Also, I wouldn't cut corners regarding anesthesia. It's the riskiest part of the procedure and you want an MDA or CRNA managing your airway and breathing. The plastic surgeon is busy with your surgery and can't manage it and a plastics or office nurse doesn't have enough training to safely take anesthesias place, regardless of how much experience they have. An anesthesiologist needs to be there. Anyhow, best wishes with your procedure. :) You look great now, I am sure post you will look awesome.

Oh my, thank you sooo much for your response. I have been going back and forth about this decision. I have just not heard of anyone going over with that size of implant. I am concerned with the anesthesia aspect now, after reading all of the doctor's comments to my post. I will def address it on Friday.

Congrats on your decision. Interesting that your ps is suggesting such large implants overs and local anesthesia. do u have a personal issue with being under general anesthesia? I look forward to reading about your journey! All the best

I don't have any issues with anesthesia. But since he's doing the subfascial placement, I guess I don't need general. His office says they do almost all their recent ba's this way. Might be the new thing? I will keep everyone updated! My final preop is today actually so I'll have to make my final decision very shortly.

How did it turn out with the medication being administered this way? So, since they didn't put you under, did you watch them doing the procedure? I guess I am sort of configured how a breast lift and implants could happen without patient going under like pretty much every other ps on here. Btw-I think you look great!! And I think you are incredibly brave to have this done with just a local!!! Was it super painful? So curious!!!

I had the terminology wrong... He will be using subfascial placement, so NOT overs. This has really put my mind at ease as I was afraid of looking like my implants were just 2 balls stuck on me. I've researched subfascial and the benefits sound amazing! I am finally feeling 100% confident in my decision. Now I just need to finalize the size I want.

I know!!! Are you getting subfascial placement? Which incision site are you going with? I was to do under the nipple but am thinking of going through the armpit now. Still unsure and only one week to go! Yikes... But I am excited, too :)
February 15, 2015
Yes I'm getting subfascial and thru nipple. I've picked up my meds have vacation time scheduled even went looking at bra's that weren't padded. Hubby said calm down can't get any till we know what size.. Ugh

So, since he was going to be around the muscle, did you still get the pill cocktail or did they change your meds too? So curious about this. I just haven't read anything like this on here!! I suppose I should continue reading your story-maybe you've answered all of this already : ).
