So after going to 3 different orthodontist I...

So after going to 3 different orthodontist I finally picked one in my first appointment to get my scan will be next Friday. The first doctor recommended Invisalign half the time and regular braces for half the time with a permanent retainer. The 2nd doctor said I should get one of my front teeth pulled on the bottom and did not recommend Invisalign wanted to do it with regular braces. This last doctor the one I picked said there was nothing wrong with my teeth to be able to have it pulled so he totally disagreed with the second doctor which I do as well! My teeth are fairly straight with overcrowding on the bottom a cross-bite on the right side ever so slightly causing some TMJ symptoms along with other stress and I have a tiny overbite. My front two teeth are starting to turn in a little bit from grinding and clenching my jaw as per the doctor. He thought that he can get it fixed within 12 to 14 months and it would possibly help with the TMJ but did warn me that TMJ could also be caused by stress and the grinding will need to stop so he will be recommending a retainer for night time jaw clenching. He also recommended a retainer but he didn't call it a permanent retainer he said to keep it for several years. I will update my journey.

First visit doing scans

After the initial consultation they scheduled me for my first visit to get my scans done to make my trays. This first initial visit they sent me down in the chair and took scans of my teeth. You can see the scans after they're done and see a 3D rendering of what your teeth look like now. This took about 10 minutes for the scan. Then the Invisalign software did a rough draft of what your smile will look like at the end but this was without the orthodontist tweaking. Then they took photos of the current situation with the mouth for before and after photos I assume my total appointment was maybe around 30 minutes tops. After the orthodontist puts his prescription in to Invisalign the trays will be made and I was told it would roughly take 4 to 6 weeks to get my first trays I made my appointment for six weeks so I will update you guys then I will work on getting before photos so you can follow me on my journey. Oh and on a side note if you do suffer from TMJ. Opening your mouth for the short. Of time may not seem bad for some but for me with TMJ it did cause me to have some swelling for about 2 or 3 days afterwards nothing major I can still move my jaw but I could tell that my joint was swollen because my teeth were hitting in different spots than they usually do. I feel like it's going to be worth it in the end. I did a soft diet for 2 days and I'm back to normal on the 3rd.

Before photos

Wanted to get before photos. My appointment to get my invisalign is Monday. I got ready by getting the following: cosmetic bag to put in my purse with a tooth brush tooth paste, mouth wash, floss, dental wax, orajel, denture cleaner, ibuprofen and antibacterial wipes. i also have a tooth brush, tooth paste, floss and mouth wash at my desk at work. i always have chap stick so i will have that handy because i hear you get chapped lips.
