$8,600

On a tight budget, I saved up to get rid of my sagging jowls by age 60. (Who knew I would also be facing divorce, hopefully by age 60 as well). If I could afford it I'd do a few more procedures, such as a BA and temporal eyebrow lift, but at least this will do for now. I want a very natural outcome. A bit concerned about my crow's feet and how the lower facelift will emphasize those lines as the skin is pulled back. That's why I am thinking of a temporal eyebrow lift, to smooth that out. Maybe it won't be too noticeable. I'll wit a couple of years and see if I still need it.

I think you are very pretty and will be thrilled after the Jowls are gone. I do not think getting rid of your jowls will emphasize crows feet at all. If you want a natural looking outcome. I am not a big fan of brow lifts, they look too much like a surprised facial expression. Besides a little Botox can do wonders on crows feet. Crows feet don't make people look old anyway. By the time people are 40 years old they have them.
I am sorry about your divorce. Enjoy your new and improved appearance. Wishing you all the best.

You can try arnica cream if you have scars, it will help heal it right up.
$8,000 + is a lot of money just for your jowls! You can try fillers and Botox a little less pricy, if money is an issue.
I'm surprised the plastic surgeons office didn't suggest using care credit. Google it. I used to work for Lifestyle Lift in NJ office and you would have pain much less than what you did...more like in the $2500 range. If I were you, and I know there are a lot of lifestyle lift offices in Florida, I'd call & set up a free consultation. You'll meet with a consultant and a doctor the same day. Then if you decide to do something more...ask them about care credit.
Sorry to hear about your divorce. Hope everything goes well.

My price included lipo and lift of the neck, a whole separate procedure. I did not qualify for CareCredit. (Divorce is complicated...) Thank you for the good wishes!

I know several people that had lifestyle lifts that were not pleased. The jowls came back shortly after the lift. I don't believe they tighten the muscle. I would go to a ps that had a good reputation.

Still on the fence about type of anesthesia to use

User Avatar
Anon19482017
I could afford another procedure if I went with local anesthesia and saved the cost of the anesthetist. I'm not afraid of local, but I'm told it's tedious, and I might be aware of smells and tugging, and I would also have to endure the injections to my face to numb it. Please tell me your stories of local anesthesia for a lower facelift or mini lift. How was it?

I am getting my lower face and neck and lower eyes with Dr. Harley in Ashville, I do not have to pay for a antesthetist that is why it would only cost about 8K to get all this done he does not knock me out just take some valium and something else to put me to sleep that is what I really like about, I am 66 yrs old I only wish I had done this earlier, this last year has really done a number on my face and neck I have care credit that I am using for the procedure it is a credit card that most of the doctors accept my may want to check it out at carecredit.com no interest for 12 months. Good luck to you I know you we will be beautiful

You left the comment I was going to leave, Pink. I was going to say that she could have her face and neck done in Asheville for $6400 and that I have not read where anyone has complained about pain during the surgery or being awake enough at any point to be negatively affected by any pulling or tugging. Most of Dr Harley's patients don't remember much if anything and they all look so good afterwards. I am really looking forward to my April appointment and seeing someone I recognize when I look in the mirror. Good luck, Dee!

Yes I agree with you Dee the prices I am seeing for this on this site from other doctors are crazy, I have also decided to get my lower eyes done for an extra 2900 and some fillers but not sure what that cost is all in all he is still less expensive. I can't wait until March 17th I try not to think about it LOL make the time go by faster

I had sedation and was in lala land as I had absolutely no recollection of the Novocain injections. I was awake during the procedure and could communicate with my doctor. No smells, a little tugging every now and then. I have a 0 pain tolerance and felt nothing uncomfortable. I did complain that my neck was getting sore from holding my head to one side. I was reassured that I would be turning my head to the other side. My procedure was a modified SMAS and my surgeon did not cut into the plytsma muscle. My recovery was very quick with hardly any bruising at all except a teeny bit in the neck area. My neck was crepe free and I was ecstatic with the results. Less is more in my opinion. Hate the look for obvious cosmetic surgery.

Getting serious and very excited about losing those jowls

User Avatar
Anon19482017
My procedure is about a month away and I couldn't be more happy to finally be able to get rid of all the loose skin hanging on my face and the crinkling on my neck. Thankfully, my doctor says the lower facelift will remedy the neck skin, since my neck muscles are still in good shape. I suppose this is a very good age for a first facelift. Maybe it'll be the only one I'll need, since I don't mind ordinary aging, little lines and such. I just mind the "sadsack" look of hanging skin. I would do liposuction of my waistline and flanks if I had the money. But overall, I'm on the slim side, and not expecting to be recruited for any fashion show runways any time soon!
