Feel like they can go without wearing the CGs and be comfortable? I am still feeling "weird" and sort in "pain" without it on and I am just 3 weeks out from Lipo. Thought I would see if others still have this feeling. I was told I could not wear it at night after 3 weeks, but I find the blankets kind of hurt my skin, so I am still wearing it there too. Anyone else??

I'm 3 weeks today and was told to wear mine for 6 weeks, day and night. I've posted this before, but for the sake of this discussion....My Dr. only uses Velcro binders. I have 2 that overlap and cover from armpits to butt crack. I wear those at night, but started using a stage 2 garment during the day when I went back to work on day 13. At this point, I still feel "weird" and sort of in "pain" WITH compression! I can't imagine not wearing at all at this point. I'm kind of surprised I still have discomfort (albeit, not bad at all--I just know it's there) at this point. I feel like I have a good week or 2 more before I *might* feel back to normal!

Yes, me too, after 3 weeks, not pain really, but discomfort, and without the CG on.. ugh! I should maybe try another stage 2 one, as I had tried it about a week in, and I got more bruises trying to put it on and off, but I might be able to deal with it now that the bruises are mostly gone, and maybe it would fit better in clothes. My CG now is zippers up both sides from under boobs to below my knees. Without anything, its almost "unbearable" have things touch my skin. He told me to wear mine for 6 weeks during the day as well! Thanks for "chiming" in for me!!

You're welcome! Definitely try the stage 2 again as long as your Dr. clears it. I have a bit of a challenge getting it on and off...I have to kind of pull out on the sides as much as I can when getting over hips...ouchee! It's so great under clothes, though!

Just purchased 2 Maidenform high waist thigh slimmers LOL. very much a workout to get into, but great once you are in them. I have a trip to London in about 8 days and I didnt want the zippers if I could avoid it!

Hi there I'm right behind your guys making 3 wks post this past Saturday. I can't stand clothes on my skin and if I'm not compressed I swell. I took my compression garment off yesterday evening through today and was so incredible swollen. So I must keep it on in order to keep swelling down. I have minimum pain but much discomfort especially in these garments because I'm so short. I was starting to regret the procedure but I've already done it. So looking for to full recovery or at least 85%. Good luck, thanks for posting!

I am 4 weeks today, and I can now go for a day or half a day without too much trouble. I am trying to "wean" off LOL. I do find still that the there is an odd (undescribable to most) pain/numbness. I try to tell my husband, its kinda numb, but it hurts, and he tells me that doesn't make sense! Time of the month is due today/tomorrow as well and I am swollen/bloated for that as well, which doesnt help matters! So my point, maybe another week, like me and you might be a little better still, where you can without it and not swell like the goodyear blimp :)

The zippers were the only kind I could get on without them rubbing over the suctioned areas and hurting. Being almost 3 mo. now it doesn't hurt to pull Spanx up. Were you under general anesthesia for your procedure? I know your traveling to London & your wearing your garment on the plane, which is good, but you're at an early stage I would wear one the whole trip or at least something to keep that blood circulating. I know you're young 44. But still, if you had general annethisia after any surgery there is always a risk at any age. I mean well, but I've just done a lot of research on this. My PS told me for a couple of hours to go out to dinner is fine, but otherwise he said wear it. You look beautiful by the way:)

Aww thanks! I have been working on getting out of it though, and have been taking a day off every 2 or 3 days, and I seem to be doing okay. I am just 4 weeks out, but I think on the trip, as long as I dont hurt, I wont wear it, but maybe will at night. I tried the spanx and the ones I got made me swell below the hem line. I was under general anesthesia. I am about 2 weeks out from having to not wear them anymore, and he told I did not have to wear them at night after 3 weeks. But I still do... most of the time. Thank you so much for thinking of me though :)

I am at the point where I now am comfortable in them. It helps me not to over eat. I only had the outer thighs done on the legs, but my legs were aching if I was on my feet for more than 6 hrs. So last mo. I even bought the Compression garment that goes to my ankles. I wear them around the house. At 3 mo. I'm not aching in the legs anymore. Because I'm old..61 is old, I want to wear them in them still, because I want my skin to conform to my body. I rub lotion on my areas every day to make sure those any little lumps disolve. Got a pair of capris coming from the UK I ordered, I read in New Beauty Magazine to help with cellulite. I'll post them on my site when they come in. They have little wooden beads in them. Interesting right? We shall see:)

I noticed an improvement in comfort without the CG after the 4th week. I got my period and wanted to just sleep in underwear and a tshirt (like I did pre surgery) and not bother with the inconvenience of dealing with the CG in the middle of the night. The surprising result was that I was pretty comfy without it! But even at 5 weeks now, I still like to have it on during the day because I feel more secure in it. I wonder if that'll ever change.

I still feel like the blankets are driving me crazy without it at night. My TOM showed up yesterday and it is much more complicated! I am going "without today" as I have to wash them up for the trip to London, but I plan to wear it tomorrow for sure on the plane and then see how it goes. I found out I need it to exercise FOR SURE, not sure when that will change either!! I dont want to have to wear it for the rest of my days though. I am still in the ones with zippers up both sides and I feel like my clothes fit better without it on.

That's good to hear. I don't really mind sleeping in my stage 2 garment, but most nights I can't because it gets washed and dried. Oh, how I wish I had 2, but I didn't want that expense for something I wouldn't need after 6 weeks. Last night I was so uncomfortable in my binders. I think I hate them so much now because I love the stage 2 so much! At 4 am I ripped them off and slept 2 hours with nothing! I felt like I was cheating, but it felt good. At 4-5 weeks post I think we are probably safe with breaks. I'm such a rule follower, that I will continue to wear until I see my Dr. again, but dang, it was a nice 2 hours!

You did have legs done!! You're looking great!!! I wish he could of taken out of my knees also. But I was shy a few days to age 61, so my PS was more conservative with me, with the fat he took out, & an overnight stay in hospital!!! I wish I did this in my 50's, but that would of been impossible with my parents health declining. (And my delusions that I could take the weight off!!! Hhhhhhha!!!! )They needed me. I had no time to be laid up. You'll get beautiful results being 44, skin is more resilient!!!

Day 14 Postop updates/photos

Well, I guess I can see some changes. I am mostly done with the bruising, still some swelling, and especially in my belly, there is a hard lump, like an orange or so, still working on that. I think my waist is down about 3", belly right now only about 2 or 3" (hard lump there) and the thighs are about 2" I think, around the knees down about 2" (these are rough estimates, as I didn't measurements the very day of lipo, but a few weeks before). I will post 14 day photos and the before and afters together!

Hey! Looking good! Isn't it nice when the changes finally become noticeable?! Makes all the pain and misery worth it! The lumps, I've read, will go away. I have little marble sized ones in many places and I can massage most of them away if I use a heating pad and take my time. My bigger hard spots (where larger amounts of fat was removed - like tummy) can be softened up too but not completely. I've read this will eventually go away too. :)

Hey Donna! Yes, I am glad to be feeling more "normal" too! I have a trip to London in 2.5 weeks and am hoping to be mostly normal for sure by then! I have a huge one and a slightly smaller one in my tummy and a small one, about half an egg size on my left hip. I have a new abdominal cincher coming today and I am hoping adding that to the CG will help to hold those in and maybe dissolve quicker. (I read this helps, so we will see) also a backup garment so its easier when I have to wash them, since I am exercising again most days and it gets sweaty (eeww) LOL.

Looking awesome! I'm still very bruised at day 13 and noticing the swelling in new places today! Probably because I went back to work. Ha ha. Whole new level of activity! Isn't it great to see our shape changed so quicky? Even with swelling! I'm only 2 lbs. below my preop weight, but the shape is so different! At any trade, I'm still pretty hot to drop 10-12 lbs. :o)

At any *rate*
User Avatar
April 14, 2015
Sounds like a great plan. I feel most of the bruising is gone and the swelling, so so... but its a work in progress! I work from home, but have started walking and spinning to add back in exercise. Was contemplating doing weights soon too. Are you back to exercising?
User Avatar
April 14, 2015
Just the 30 minute walk today so far..I did a few shorter walks while I was off, but mostly rested and puttered around the house doing light things. My Dr. said light exercise is good now to help with skin retraction, but too much = extra swelling which should be avoided. I'll stick to walking this week and then see how I'm feeling next week before I up the intensity.
User Avatar
April 14, 2015
Mine told me standing will cause/increase swelling, but walking would help with lymphedema. So I had picked it up. He said at about 2 weeks I could start lighter intensity cardio, and to wait until about 4 weeks for high intensity cardio, etc. But I am sure its definitely a "listen to your own body" kind of thing, smartest way!! Cant wait for your new photos! I am still only about 6 or 7 lbs below my pre weight too! I would love to lose 20 more really!!
User Avatar
April 14, 2015
That's pretty much what my Dr. said, too. To me, light intensity cardio is a nice, brisk walk. I think every day I will be able to pick up the pace a bit. Definitely a "listen to your own body" thing. My Dr. advised against anything that broke a sweat and causes lost breath. :) I definitely don't want to be jumping at this point. Bumps on the road still startle me. Ha ha! I really think I'll start to drop some pounds now...I'm not sure yet when I'll do more photos. Still bruised and STILL have marker and tape on me! Only one of the seven incision site tapes has fallen off. The rest are stuck solid.
User Avatar
April 14, 2015
LOL, I think I have finally got all the marker off me now. I also take a bath and a shower every day (I seriously missed my bath when I could not take one) but its a "relax nightly thing" for me normally. That might have helped. I just pulled the tape off the last 3 places just yesterday in the shower. Your two weeks in now? You should post some updates! I did yesterday, even though still swollen too and some bruising, but its a progress thing! I am finally getting to where I can let my bulldog sit on my lap again! She was feeling lost without "mommy snuggles"

You are looking great! Im so happy for you! Hope u are not in any pain ... I am 5 days post op and still in a lot of pain with tons of swelling and am starting to get discouraged so I have not taken any post op pics yet, I go to see my doctor tomorrow so we will see what he says. Congrats on ur results!!!
User Avatar
April 15, 2015
Dont get discouraged. I was too about day 5, didnt see any difference, the scale was up and not down, the sweling was horrendous, but now... day 16 I think today and I tried on a pair of jeans I could not zip before (size 6 skinny modern jeans) and they fit!! Only had a tiny bit of muffin top on the top too. I am still a little swollen in the legs, still have a lump in the belly area, but still making changes even though the scale is not really cooperating, so I am not focusing on that, and am focusing on the fit/inches instead. Not really in pain anymore either. A bit of stiffness after sitting to standing, but thats it. I am back to most exercise as well! I didnt take photos of before/after really until PO day 14. :) Let me know how it goes with the doctor!!

If I have no pain in 10 more days I will be soooooooo happy! lol The burning pain sucks! What kind of compression garment are you wearing? He just put me in a binder corset typye thing and it is so uncomfortable ... when I sit it rolls from the swelling .. so annoying. Im going to ask him tomorrow if he has anything else ... but you are getting good results so I thought Id ask! :-)

I got mine from http://fstubbs.com/ and then go to the liposuction girdles, and I got the high waist, below the knees, contact closure and zippers. I got the same one from my PS, but it was not as high waisted and it was hitting and making a sore spot, so I got this one, higher and then an abdominal cincher from them too, and that helps to work out that lump in my tummy I think. My first one did not roll either though. I ordered and returned 3 other types trying to find one with higher waist. This one is perfect!! and so easy to put on and off (well considering) LOL

You look awesome! Tell do you feel very tight around your abdomen? Do you feel like you can't stretch?
User Avatar
April 21, 2015
I dont feel tight really, except where the lumps are. There are 2 of them in my belly. I am trying to keep a binder on them when I can. My thighs feel tight, like I cant stretch them out. I tried running today (3 weeks out today) ugh!! pain!! LOL. I feel like I cant see a difference this week, like I did last week. I hope this passes. How are you doing?
User Avatar
April 21, 2015
Thanks for replying.i think something is wrong but I'm a worryingly type. I'm 2 weeks and 3 days, but u feel so tight like I can barely stand straight. The doctor says it'll pass but it feels as if my skin is too low. I don't know anymore.
User Avatar
April 22, 2015
Try some stretching. Are you exercising yet? I think that helped my "stiffness" out a bit too! Mine would hurt until I was fully upright, but then once "stretched" a bit, it was fine. Maybe you just need to loosen up those muscles a bit more!
April 22, 2015
Just saw your last photos you posted... You look great!!! Probably even better now, new pics please! I need the encouragement. Lol

Finally some swelling is down!

User Avatar
catjrow3
This morning, day PO 10 I think, I am finally at least 5.3 lbs under my pre-op weight. The swelling is not as bad as it was, but there are still some hard lumps in my thighs and in my belly. I have been trying to do more massage and I have definitely picked up the walking to get the lymph edema down. I also had started taking Omega 3 and Bromelain as others suggested this would help with the swelling. I will post new photos on the 2 week mark and hopefully I will be able to see a good difference from the pre photos. A few more days and I think I can resume some more exercise and maybe spin or even start back up with weight lifting!

User Avatar
April 15, 2015
I am still wearing the CG. I dont have foams, not sure what that is... I was normally pretty active before and tried to keep moving during as much as possible. The first 4 or so days were horrid then it started slow improvement. I did two little bottles of the Arnica too, for the bruising. How are you doing?
