I'm a 5'4" normal weight (130 lb) female who has always had a double chin (hereditary). My engagement pushed me to finally take the plunge. I just got my first Kybella treatment on Saturday 1/21/17. The injections felt like little pinches—it wasn't that bad. There was some burning sensations afterwards. Dr. Hartson was very nice and comforting. I got lightheaded after the shots, so she laid my chair back while I relaxed (and I got lots of hershey's kisses). Overall the experience went very well.

I got home and took a nap and when I woke up, I had swollen up like a balloon! Currently (1/22) I am still swollen, a bit sore, and my neck jiggles (I can even feel it when I walk). My skin is also numb. I have been wearing a scarf to hide my bull frog neck.

I was told to check in after 10 weeks (which would be April 1, 2017). I hope the swelling doesn't last too long!

Keep us updated! Am thinking about it but want to view other people's experiences first.

My doctor told me to come back in 6 weeks but I think I will wait until 10 weeks. So far it has a few days shy of 6 weeks and I don't notice anything. I received several syringes n, not meaning the shots themselves. I think it must have been two vials put into all the syringes. I'm a little bummed but hoping for some improvement. Saving for another go at it and then I'm giving up and probably doing chin lipo. It will be very disappointing though.

By the way. Swelling can last up to 3 weeks and then numbness I still have a little at 6 weeks but it's not a big deal.

Swelling has gone down a little. My skin is still numb. Sometimes it feels itchy inside my neck. I will post side by sides at the one week mark.

One week update

ashjofree
Its been one week since my first round. My neck is still sore if I touch it or lift my head up and my skin is still pretty numb. Not noticing any changes, pretty much back to how it was before. Bruising is fading. My before photos aren't great—the place I got this done at took better ones. I'm anxious for these next 9 weeks until I go for a follow-up to compare before and afters.

Hey there! Thanks and good luck with your second treatment, I'll be sure to follow your updates! I'm really hoping I don't need a second treatment—if it comes to that I feel I might just look into lipo.

Nice to see how everyone progresses from this treatment. I am an Aesthetic Nurse Injector and I have administered this treatment (for submental fat) and I have also received two treatments myself. I did notice that the 2nd much more tolerable than the first and I had less swelling. With the first treatment I had that jelly feeling after the first day. I did have a noticeable difference (to me) even after one treatment but wanted more definition which is why I went for the second treatment. It definitely takes longer to heal and see results than botox and filler but I do think it's worth it. Good Luck!
