The Absolute Best Surgeon I Have Met

I got a forehead reduction with Dr. Olson at the end of January 2023. I flew in from California alone so I was pretty nervous, but his wife Mercy, who works with him is an absolute angel and made me feel like I was going to be safe and okay. Mercy and Dr.Olson treated me like they were my parents. Actually way nicer than my parents haha. They really do treat their patients like family and are so reassuring as surgery is definitely a scary thing.
Mercy was always responsive when I was scheduling with her but never ever pushy, even when I had to push the surgery back a few months just due to to some last minute emergencies. She was very patient with my many questions.
Dr. Olson himself has the best bedside manner. Despite him being a very skilled and reputable surgeon, he has absolutely no ego. A few of the surgeons I met with before seemed kind of condescending and rushed, but with Dr.Olson he really takes the time to talk to you and get to know what you are looking for.
As for the surgery results itself. Wow, life changing. I’ve been insecure about my forehead my entire life. Getting called “five head” regularly gets old haha. Now, I feel like I at least have a normal looking forehead and no longer have to wear hats, beanies, or part my hair to try to cover it.
The surgery recovery itself was almost painless. At least compared to what I thought it would be. When I first learned forehead reduction surgery was even a thing last year, I remember the woman on tiktok said that the pain was about a 7 out of 10 for the first few days after the surgery, but I can honestly say, the first day was probably a 3 or 4 out of 10 without any Tylenol. After the second day, my pain was a 2 out of 10, really just some soreness around the incision line. At the surgery clinic, one of the workers there said that of all the facial plastic surgeons that work at the clinic, Dr. Olson’s patients always seem to be in the least amount of pain and have the least complications, he really is very skilled. If I ever get anything else in the future, I am 100% going to go back to Dr. Olson even though he is out of state for me!
