Everyone in my immediate family (and some extended) have a double chin. I have been dreading it all my life, and sometimes would be bullied growing up because of it. I do everything in my power to cover up my chin as possible. I was just tired of living that way, so I decided to seek medical help

Before and a day after injection

mepeter
The appointment took about a hour. Most of it was taking photos, measuring out the viles, putting the lines on my face and other random things. The inject itself took about 5 minutes total. Sure it hurt, but it was tolerable. The pain doesn't start until about 30 seconds to a minutes after the doctor is done making the injection. They gave me two ice packs once I was done, and those made everything better!!

The pain subsided about a hour or so after the appointment. Even though it didn't really hurt, it was uncomfortable moving my head back and forth. It's important to keep up on the pain meds and keep icing. Your chin will also be super numb! It'll continue to be numb for a couple of weeks.
The day after the injections was much better than the first. I was able to turn my head, and the pain was gone. Still numb though, of course.

It's almost a week since my appointment and the numbness is almost gone. It is still sensitive to touch. Sorry this update is all over the place. I'll update again sometime next week. I'm hoping to start seeing results!

If you decide to get Kybella, you need to be patient. If you can live with a double chin fore multiple years, you can wait 2+ more months to have a great chin! I'm optimistic about my results!!

Thanks for posting! Did you need 2 full vials? I am going for a consult on Monday.
Thanks again

I actually had three full ones. They wanted to get a large dose the first time around.

I had Kybella but I'm older than you 55 so my results aren't as good as what yours will be I bet you will love the results you look like a perfect candidate for Kybella I just wish the results came faster !

I hope my skin will reattach well!!! And I do hate the waiting part, but I'm optimistic about the outcome. Anything will be better than what I have now.

Oh you won't have any problems with loose skin you are young that's why you're a perfect candidate for the kybella but in my case with age we lose the elasticity in our skin that's why mine wasn't as successful and my skin is saggy ! Oh well lower face lift hear I come lol

Are u going back for another injection??
September 17, 2016
Yes! I just set up my second appointment in November. I don't really make a lot of money since I'm only working part time but I finally have the money to get the second one!

how did the results turn out?
August 2, 2016
I've only had one treatment since I'm unable to pay for the next one at this moment. I have seen very small changes, unfortunately. My doctor said it is normal to see little changes, rather than a big one. I'll need to recieve another before seeing a bigger difference! I'm still hopeful!

Honestly not as great as I expected. But it is said that the first treatment isn't really that great anyways. You need to get a second or third in order to start seeing results. Part of me wish I just got lipo instead because it happens a lot faster

Not worth it

mepeter
It’s been nearly 4 years since my procedure, and I believe that my double chin has only gotten worse. I’m getting married in 2021 and I’m doing everything I can to save up extra money in order to have liposuction before our big day. I love myself regardless of how I look, but I would love to have a prominent jawline. It’s something I wanted for long, and I will not be convinced into getting Kybella this time around. It was the biggest waste of money and I still occasionally cry over all the money I lost and bad affect it had on my chin. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS.

Hello, can I please ask which doctor you had it done with? Do you know if they actually used Kybella (some doctors say they are using Kybella and they use a compounded product instead)

I did lipo in my chin and it also looks worse. I now have hanging skin in my chin and neck. So please do your research before you waste more money.

I did kybella, and I would agree with you that it made worse. However, stay positive! One day you will def have a prominent jawline!! Good luck

I hope this doesn't sound insensitive but did you gain weight from the time you got it done until now. I had 2 treatments and it did NOTHING for me. So I'm not sure if it's because I wasn't watching how I was eating.

Kybella has definitely worked for me but it's expensive and can take a very long time. Because I am over 60 I'm really afraid of skin laxity so I've had four treatments of 1 vial each, and working with my RN, we "tune" each injection to try to make my problem area smaller each treatment. I think I may need 1-2 more treatments of one vial each for a total of 5-6, but I started out as a fairly mild case, with a pretty good jawline. My RN told me for people with a lot of fat to destroy it can take 10-12 vials, and for young people, I'm not sure Kybella makes much sense. If you are below 35 you probably won't have to worry about skin laxity and you can just get it all sucked out in one lipo session and you're done at a reasonable cost. For old fogies like me, the advantage of Kybella is I can take it really slow to give the skin a chance to tighten up between treatments - if I had lipo in that area and got rid of all the fat at once, I would have so much loose skin that I would look like I was ready to be served for Thanksgiving dinner.
