I have been suffering from acne since middle school. Now I'm 32 and a mother of 3... didn't think I would still have acne at this age. I have been to many well known dermatologist in Dallas. I have tried many different topicals, antibiotics, chemical peels, light therapy, microderm, & skincare products with LITTLE TO NO HELP. I even went to school and became a Esthetician to have a better understanding about skin.. my problem was not the way I was washing or what I was using. It was more what my body was going through that has lead me to Zenatane.. Today is my 6th night on 40mg. No bad side effects. My oil production has decreased just a bit. I have broken out more since being on Zenatane. My lips have became a little dryer on the 4th day, just on the corners. Not bad at all.. I'm just thankful that I don't have any bad side effects yet. Maybe it's because I'm on a lower dose. I am 103 lbs 5'3 taking 40mg every night for the 1st month. Next month I will be on 60 mg. Doc said it's ideal for my body weight. Can't wait to do another update next week.

Just wanted to show pictures of my progress on Zenatane 40 mg. No side effects, not even dry lips.. broken out with little bumps all over my face mostly my cheeks and chin. So far so good guys.. till next week. .

Hi there :) I've had acne since age 10, I'm 19 now. It's been really tough on me and my self-esteem, and I've really had enough of it, so I'm planning to go on Accutane this November if my dermatologist says yes. My acne is really similar to yours too! I don't have major big bumps, but tiny little clogged pores and small pimples that cover, i would say, 85% of my face. Nobody in my family has acne (I know ... im the unlucky one) and I've had my hormone levels checked and they were within the normal range for females my age. Weirdly enough im also 103 lbs and 5 feet 3 (or maybe 5 feet 4). I went on Accutane this summer but only for 2 months and 10mg daily (that was waaaay too low of a dose, but my dermatologist was probably scared i would suffer from the side effects). since the dose was so long, i didnt feel any side effects but experienced a mild initial breakout and my face cleared up after 6 weeks i would say. for the first time in 9 years, i experienced clear skin for 2 weeks (wow two short amazing weeks during which i felt good about myself) and then all the acne slowly but surely came back. now my face is as oily as pre-accutane and seriously i dont think i would ever outgrow it. i cant say how i know, but i feel it. i know my body. anyhow, could you keep me posted about your accutane course ? i have 3 friends who went on accutane and had amazing results, not a pimple since. but their acne is different from mine. mine is really similar to yours, so i would really really appreciate if you could give me some advice or what not. they say accutane causes depression, but while i was on accutane i was so happy knowing that i could be cured (even temporarily) and feel like a normal happy person for once in my life, that i feel depression from acne is far worse than depression that accutane might cause. so yeah, i really hope accutane works out for you! and best of luck to all acne sufferers, we have it tough in life but some of us might one day get clear skin and self-esteem back

Hi there! Your time is just around the corner! I'm so excited for you! You are very wise to keep in mind that it does get worse before you start seeing that gorgeous skin underneath all that bad stuff.. I told myself that at the beginning and I know it has to come out. I have broken out alot more since being on Zenatane. I have 2 cystic acne right now, 1 on my forehead and 1 on my chin.. I woke up with it this morning but I'm not worried about it, it will be gone by tomorrow or the next day.. it just hurts to touch it.. I had my 1st nose bleed last night. Nothing to be alarmed about, I pinched my nose together because it has been itching along with my face and I must have broken the dry skin. Didn't last long, maybe 2-3 minutes with tissue stuffed up my nose, lol.. My face, lips, & scalp are dry and itchy so I just keep chapstick "Aquaphor" and CeraVe moisturizer "both can be purchased at Walmart" on at all times.. you need to have chapstick, VERY IMPORTANT. Now about the extremely oily skin that I still have, not sure why this is still a problem since this medication is supposed to stop the production of oils. So right now I have more oils then I before with the dry flaky skin :-) my eyes have not been a big problem. I do feel that it gets dry later in the evening so I just have eyedropper around just in case. Only had to use twice.. other than that everything is going great! No headaches, I eat all the time, always happy, no thoughts of SUICIDE even crossed my mind. I will be doing a 2 week "14 day" review to show my progress. Hope to hear from you soon! So far so good!!! Looking forward to next week! You breakout is very minimal which is GREAT! I'm starting week 3 this week, have had some new sides effects, really, really sore lower back! Generally fatigued, but doesn't really bother me. Will update tomorrow :)

Hey Evie.87! Sorry about the sore lower back. . I have back pain but I think it's from a long day lashing clients. . I was actually more fatigued before Zenatane. I could tell that I'm more awake and ready to go everyday now! Maybe it's in my head lol knowing that I'm finally going to have beautiful skin and just excited :-) anywho, can't wait to see your pictures! I had my 1st nose bleed last night when trying to itch my nose, not a big deal.. dry flaky skin and that's it.. I'm going to do another review in a few days for my 2 week. Talk to you soon!

Just wanted to show some pictures of my progress. It's been 14 days since I started Zenatane 40mg. Just a quick reminder I'm 32, 5'3 at 105 now. I have not had any bad side effects. Thank God for that. Just dry lips especially the corners of my mouth but chapstick fixes that problem really quick. No headaches, no rash, no lost of appetite, no depression, no thought of suicide, I'm not fatigued at all. So far it's been a great journey. I did have 2 very short nose bleeds because the insides of my nose is dry. It bleeds for a couple of minutes if that and it's gone. It doesn't hurt at all. .. now, my face does itch a lot, but nothing unbearable. I bought some Olay CC cream today just because when I used my regular foundation "chanel brand" or concealer "Maybelline brand" it would itch even worse and burn at the same time. So I wanted to give the CC cream a try and so far I'm in love. Gives you a hint of color, antioxidants, moisturizer, and the best part it's SPF 30! Doesn't burn or create more itching on my face so win win. Anyways back to the acne. I think it has actually gotten better. I have noticed more black heads. I did get 2 cysts but that went away the very next day! So people that do get them.. don't worry because it will go away. This seems to be the magic pill. I hope it continues being positive for me.
