Back at it
I’m full swing back into corsetting after taking a brief time of just on and off doing it from a bad back flair up. The support definitely helps my back overall but since my condition is congenital, I get flair ups that are pretty bad from time to time. I have a hard time walking so I avoid the corset to prevent any possible damage during them. I always try to play it safe, even if that means no corset ????. Anyway, I’m at 29” which I’m very comfortable at, doesn’t feel like much more than a hug. Feeling pretty good to have it back on this week full time. Hoping for a long stretch with no back issues so I can get nice and Tiny for the summer lol. Here’s hoping to an uneventful few months back wise so I can add lots more updates!
New low!
I got to a new low! 27 1/2”!!! Still 29” once I take the corset off. I didn’t leave my corset on the entire time since it was the first time I got that small. I didn’t realize it was that tight until I measured and I was baffled. Regardless I am trying to be safe and healthy about it so I only left my corset on a few hours at that measurement. I’m not trying to look like a Barbie, just training my waist to keep a nice shape with it off. I’d be happy if I was 27-28 without the corset at the max so really at this point it’s just a waiting game. Keep this up for a few months and maybe I’ll get there. I think later this week I’ll do new measurements and pics in the AM before I put it on for a nice comparison.
The good, the bad and the ugly!
So something I haven’t really shared much is some of the downsides of corseting. One thing you’ll learn if you do a lot of reading up on it is a lot of people end up with what’s called a “Venus fold” or back cleavage. It’s annoying. Usually this takes place if you are tight lacing...which if you’re like me, you are because you’re lacing up to try and train your waist. I’m not a large girl but I’m also not small so yes, I have some fat on my back. Without a corset it’s not a ton but when you add a tight laced corset that’s essentially redistributing your skin and fat, tada...say hi to the Venus fold. There are a couple things you can do to try and avoid it or decrease it. You can lace up looser on the top to help decrease it. Personally I don’t because I like my corset even all the way down but if that doesn’t bother you, do it! The other thing you can try is to have someone push the skin and fat back under the corset to try and redistribute it more evenly under the laces. Since it doesn’t bother me much, I leave it alone. If I go out or dress in something that it shows, I do have hubby “tuck” it in the best he can though.
Whatever you decide to do, know it’s completely normal. Even some of the skinniest women I’ve seen in corsets end up with some degree of this. That’s why it even has its own name! ;)
Other than this quick little update, not a whole lot to report. I’m getting slightly tighter in my new corset but I’m taking it slow because it’s definitely way tighter than my old one. It is tight enough now that the modesty panel is covering all my skin so there’s no more peek a boo going on so that’s exciting. The lacing Gap is about 2 inches I would say. Maybe a smidge less or more, sorta hard to measure that on my own. The busks are also closing easier and easier as the days go on, good sign that your corset is well seasoned. They just naturally fall into place. I’m lacing to about 28 1/8” so about 27” without the corset bulk. When I take it off I’m around 29-30” so still a while to go to truly train my waist to stick to that for a while. Still much better than the 33” I started off at. My goal is 28” without the corset. I don’t want an extreme look without it, just some nice curves.
Hope all you ladies are doing great!!!
