My Sculpture Experience - Lower abdomen - From research to results!
I’m starting up this journal since I’m in the pro...
A little history: I first learned about Sculpsure 2 years ago when consulting with a PS regarding another procedure - a Sculpture poster/ad just happened to be in sitting in the waiting room. The focus of the poster/ad was the lower abdomen, which happens to be the one area on my body I find the most stubborn when it comes to fat. Naturally this intrigued me and I jokingly mentioned back then (2 years ago) that this was definitely something I needed! As they say: “many a true word is spoken in jest”. Lol.My specs and various ramblings: I’m 5’ 5” and my weight fluctuates between 126 lbs to 131lbs. Right now I’m at my high end and I hope to lose a couple lbs. I don’t really consider myself to be overweight, but naturally I prefer being on the lighter end. However even with exercise (i.e. sit-ups, crunches, and swimming) I have to get well below 126 lbs in order for the pooch in my lower abdomen to completely disappear. I’ve been able to do this a few times in my life. For example: one year ago my weight went down to 122 lbs (for about 5 minutes) after basically starving myself for a week (lol); and yes my stomach was completely flat during those fleeting moments. Unfortunately it’s not only a challenge to get below 126 lbs and stay there, I’ve found when I do go below 126lbs my face gets very thin with hollowed cheeks. Let me also add that it doesn’t help being my age (62). Lol.Other ideas/research: I’ve also considered Cool Sculpting (another targeted fat therapy). However based on my research (via the internet and the Doctors Q&A here) Sculpsure appears to have fewer side effects and zero problems with unevenness (i.e. visible lumpiness, “shelving”) compared to Cool Sculpting. For this among other reasons I’ve decided that Sculpsure is the better option for me.Additional info: One of the reasons I didn’t proceed with the Sculpsure a couple years ago is because I had other concerns of which I also have reviews here on. This is good timing for me because being part of the Realfriends program here I may also have the opportunity to receive two complimentary Sculpture treatments in the near future. I’ll keep you posted if I do.I look forward with excitement to finding out if Sculpsure works for me. As mention above I’m in the process of booking consultations. I’ve already booked two consults and plan on booking one more. I’ll keep you posted on who, what, where and when. Lastly:If any of you have have experienced Sculpsure and have tips this would be greatly appreciated. I also just posted a question in the Doctor’s Q&A here on what kind of questions to ask during a Sculpsure consultation. I look forward to hearing from them as well as any of you that may have tips and advice to offer. To be continued. :-)I received this complimentary treatment through the RealFriends program.
A good place to research to start your research ...
Aside from reading articles, seeing at videos online and looking at other member’s reviews I also posted a couple questions in the doctors Q&A section on Sculpsure and wanted to share these with you. See links below. One thing to know is when you post a question in the Doctors Q&A be sure to check back periodically to see if another doctor has responded.
Question one: What questions should I ask during a SculpSure consultation?
https://www.realself.com/quest...
Question two: How do you determine treatment area and/or pricing?
https://www.realself.com/quest...
So far I’ve had one consultation. I have another one scheduled for April 16. I plan on posting all the details about my consults in another update after I finished all my consults.
I’ve also posted another set of before pics for variation on the truth of the matter. And I think it always makes an update more interesting when you post a pic. Imo pics (both before and Afters) very rarely tell the whole truth. Our bodies fluctuate from day today even from hour to hour. Not to mention we all know that after a full meal the stomach is going to protrude more than when it’s on empty stomach. Lol. That’s all for now. :-)

My “pre-consultation weeding out” process.

According to my research Sculpture was first fda approved about 3 years ago; and some areas of the body have only been FDA approved within the last year. So I was looking for providers that have been practicing for minimum of two+ years with at least 3 to 4 before/after pics (from their own portfolios) of the lower abs (my area of concern). Questions I asked over the phone before booking consultations: how long has the sculpsure laser device been in your office? And how many before/after pics do you have to show me of the abdomen? And who is actually doing the procedure?

One thing to be aware of: even if you just pick a board certified PS as the provider the PS may not be the one doing the the procedure. And this was the case with all the PS offices I called. So (imo) it is important to ask who will be doing the SculpSure treatment and how much experience they have. I was told by one practice told me that even though the PS did not do the procedure th PS checked the machine prior to the procedure being performed.

Most of the places I contacted were very cooperative about letting me look at the bef/afters (prior to an actual consult) and said I could stop by anytime. I loved the expediency of this process and the fact that I didn’t have to fill out forms and reveal all my personal info at this stage. There were some that told me they didn’t really have that many before/after pics since they hadn’t been doing it all that long. That was good info get over the phone; and these we’re providers that were automatically weeded out.

Through this process of elimination I found two Sculpsure providers in my area that I felt had enough experience under the belt for my comfort level. And I booked consultations with them after reviewing there before/after pics. Both of them gave great consultations; they took the time to carefully explain the procedure to me. They also showed me the equipment. And one of them even placed the applicators onto my lower abdomen to see how they fit. Btw, this is not to say there are only two providers in my area that I think are qualified. After all I didn’t contact every single SculpSure provider in my area. I will reveal who both of these providers are (both whom I would highly recommend) once my first treatment is scheduled. In the meantime I hope the process I’ve explained above is helpful. I’ve actually used it for other procedures as well. More info to come. :-)

I’m also aware the results can be subtle. Not to mention not everyone is a good candidate for this procedure. At 5’ 6” and 116 pounds I imagine you wouldn’t have much belly fat at all. Sometimes loose skin or lax muscles can be mistaken for fat. And Sculpsure won’t help either of those from what I’ve read. For loose skin and lax muscle a TT may be a better option. Just curious how many weeks ago did you have your treatment? I’ve read it can take up to 12 weeks to see the results. I’ve also read that a minimum of two treatments is usually needed to see any noticeable difference. Good luck! :-)

That aside I certainly wouldn’t mind if it tightened up my skin a little when I get the treatment. Did you get one or two treatments? What areas (i.e. upper, lower abdomen, or both) and how many applicators were applied to each area? If you did less than two treatments or had only four applicators spread out through out both upper and lower abdomen... I would suspect that could the reason you may not have seen the results you wanted. And of course not everyone is a good candidate for sculpture. Talk later. :-)
Btw one of the interesting things I’ve read from people that have gained weight after sculpsure... is that even with their weight gain the fat did not return in the areas they had treated. Bottom line: pics are always interesting to look at....
