Weekly migraines motivated me to try Botox. It was a very painful procedure, I did not read many others on how painful the actual shots were??? Now 10 days later my shoulder, neck & back pain subsided. I did have short lasting migraines this past week. I am Not sure I can handle the shots again...

I'm sorry you thought the injections were so painful.  I'm not sure I've heard anyone say that before- were you injected by a neurologist?  I'm glad your pain is subsiding- let us know if you notice a difference in your migraine frequency over the next few weeks.

Migraines do not last for days now which is great but I still get them. So I will continue with the treatment since I do feel a difference in migrane activity.

I'm glad you are having less migraines- and I hope the injections hurt less next time.

I have Botox shots(31) every three months for migraines. I have been having them for about a year now. They helped the entire three months in the beginning, but now I usually have to have nerve blocks along with my Sumavel DosePro injections in between. This is not normal for most patients. I have other issues.
They are painful! Tell your physician to use a smaller needle as my doctor did!
As far as how fast they work mine usually takes effect almost immediately. Praise the Good Lord( And the Dr? Lol) and if you have wrinkles in the area where your Physician is injecting you the wrinkles will be less obvious! Although it is Not the same Botox used for wrinkle reduction, from what I have been told. So if you can get a 2fer good for you. Lol We must find joy where we can!
It is def working! Less migraines, I still dread my next appt wow did that hurt!!! And the next day my back hurt so I hope I don't get that reaction again. Then tension in my neck has even gone away now that it has been over a month!
Have you tried taking any medication to relax you before you go for your Botox injections? This might help as you won't be as tense when you are having the procedure done. You also might ask your physician to use smaller needles for your injections. My doctor uses a small needle, almost as small as an insulin needle!
I have been getting Botox injections for about a year for migraines. Yes they hurt but my doctor started using a smaller needle, now they hardly hurt at all! Ask your physician if he/she can go to a smaller needle.

I was just coming over to this review to mention your tip about the smaller needles- thanks for sharing this tip here!

Your doctor could have hit a nerve when giving you your shots! Tell him/her to watch. Also tell your doctor what happened!!
Thank you! I go back in a month yikes!!!!
