WORTH IT
Have always had small breasts (32A/B) since puberty.... continually waited for them to grow but that day never came!! My father is a plastic surgeon so the world of surgery has always just been a dinnertable conversation and so normal to me! The idea of getting any operations was therefore not alien to me and didn't scare me! Decided about a year ago that a breast augmentation was what I really wanted. My father therefore put me in-touch with his colleague who worked in his private clinic, who I had a consultation with back in August.
The operation date was set for december. I wasn't nervous or emotional on the day of the operation and was familiar with all of the clinic staff so was put at ease. Operation and recovery went really well and could feel improvements every single day. I was on painkillers for just over a week but was out of bed on day 2 and back to normal life about day 5/6.
Initially my breasts were very tight and swollen with no movement what-soever!! But now, just over 2 weeks post-op my breasts have ssoftened dramatically and the incision scars have nearly completely healed over.
Overall so pleased and would recommend anyone considering a breast augmentation to go ahead!! And anyone local to me to seek a consultation with Harry Lewis in the Fitzwilliam Clinic, Lisburn Road, Belfast!!

Hey I just read your review! I'm from Belfast too! Trying to decide which clinic to go to! I've booked a consultation with River medical. I might book an appointment with Fitzwilliam clinic after seeing this! I've even considered travelling to Manchester/Liverpool or down to Dublin.. How are you getting on? Are you still happy with results? How much roughly did the procedure cost at Fitwilliam and did you stay in Knightsbridge? Thanks!!

Hi there! I have heard of river medical, but as I've said I had links to the Fitzwilliam clinic so hadn't considered anywhere else for my op. Couldn't fault the clinic at all, so if you're considering there I would fully encourage you to book a consult! And if you're considering down south, my father James Small has a clinic there called 'The Clinic Sandymount Green' you could talk a look at.
Now nearly 2.5 months post op, and very happy with results! Swelling nearly completely gone, just a little on the underside near the scar but barely noticeable. Breasts look so natural, im so impressed with how they sit with and without bra!
Unfortunately I can't help you re money as it was a gift from my parents and that was taken care of. I know consultations are £100, but thats all I can help you with!!
Im not sure what you mean by knightsbridge - I had a day procedure and was home by that evening! Any other questions feel free to ask.

Awh thank you for writing back!! Ok I'm going to book a consultation at fitzwilliam clinic because it's near home! I'm so jealous you are on the other side! Did you get under the muscle or over? I have the other consultation on16th March.. Suppose may as well get 2nd opinion and know what my options are.. So excited to actually be making plans! Perfect I was planning for around £5000

I was initially getting under the muscle (i think because of my small chest), but Dr Harry Lewis changed his mind before the operation - i think he decided there was enough breast tissue to go over the muscle. I was quite glad of that, just because it's a smaller op and as I'll need replacements in the future and more ops I guess that makes future operations easier too! Im excited for you!! Hope everything goes well and you're happy with your new boobs after the op!!

Hi, I'm so pleased to read about someone in Belfast! I'm booked in with Stephen Sinclair for a breast enlargement this month and the nerves have really kicked in.
I'm terrified of the GA, did you go fully under or twilight? What kind did you go for? Mr Sinclair has recommended Teardrop, 425CC for me under the muscle, and I'm the same starting size as you. I'm worried they'll be huge.

Dont be nervous!! Theres literally nothing to be worried about. The staff and nurses will keep you calm - they're all lovely!
I went fully sedated under GA, one minute I was holding the nurses hand, the next I was waking up in recovery!
I went for teardrop too and think I ended up at 310cc or maybe the one up - I can't remember!! I guess it depends on your height and build too.. I'm 5ft 4 and was very conscious of overdoing it and going too big so stayed on the safe side. I wouldn't have gone any smaller than that, but am happy with the 310ccs. Bigger implants I think wouldn't have looked out of proportion on me either however, so I wouldn't worry about the number on the implant. As long as you have tried them on with a vest top (to get a good idea of how they'll look normally) and are happy with the size don't worry about it! Maybe get a second opinion from your mum/friend, and don't be afraid to ask for another sizing consultation just to be certain!

Thank you! You've really put my mind at ease. I'm 5'7, bit of a swimmers build in that I have broad shoulders so I think he thinks I'll carry them well. I might just go ahead and ask for another sizing appt tho. I'm one of these people that hates to put people out but it's a big decision.
Do you know if you got the US Allergen implants of the UK? I'm tempted to change to the UK brand as they're cheaper

Im glad! Honestly I mean it when I say that its probably a bigger deal in your head than you'll find in real life. The op is really a breeze, and while the recovery is a little painful and at the time seems like is taking over, it really healed very quickly and I was up and mobile and back to normal life very soon!
Its a very big decision, and at the end of the day you are paying for it, and you'll have them on your body for a long time so better safe and not sorry! Go for another sizing!
Ill check re the type of implants as i'm really not sure!

It sounds like your familiarity with plastic surgery helped you not only make your decision to get a BA but it helped you to not be nervous or scared. What type and size implants did you get? We would love to see any pictures you're comfortable sharing. Feel free to join the December 2015 breast augmentation surgery forum for some additional post op support. Hoping you'll update us again soon!
