50/50 - MtF Breast Augmentation
I struggled to find a surgeon in the Brisbane and surrounding areas who would be willing to perform a breast augmentation on me, as a transgender woman wishing to receive elective cosmetic surgery. Despite being on hormones for ~4 years at this point in time, it was very difficult to find a surgeon - and Dr Ali Hussein was recommended by a few girls in our community.
After being able to confirm he would take me in for a consult, and be able to perform the surgery, I was elated! He did ask for psychiatric evaluation, which isn't required by WPATH for breast augmentation, but I was happy to oblige. Once confirmed, he advised the $5,990 cost would be an additional $1,000 as I was transgender and would require 'extra' work - explained to be due to my flat chest wall and smaller breast pockets.
His reception staff were the best part - very attentive, happy to answer all questions, and treated me no different to other patients, which is what I desired, not to be an outcast or a weirdo.
Skipping to the surgery, I had 520cc Nagor Impleo implants high profile over the muscle at 95kg 182cm and I was very happy. Surgery went well.
5 days later I had some concerns with fluid build-up, told all normal and to rest - fair enough. It went away, but... I never received a follow up consultation... Aaaaah!
Due to a rift between him and his admin staff member, and legal issues not involving me, I was told I was no longer welcome to receive treatment - which meant NO post-care appointment after than straight after surgery.
Since then, 4.5yr later, I've nver had any emails or calls returned and told by numerous staff I was not welcome - all due to a miscommunication he had with his admin staff, which cost me my aftercare.
Now I am considering revision work as my right implant has nerve damage that has not repaired, and suspected capsular contracture.
I now see his website is no longer active.
