The wait/weight sucks!
MommaNaunaMay 3, 2015
It has been 2 torturous weeks since I met with the PS and I just can't wait to hear something, anything from the insurance so that I can schedule my surgery. I leave for a much needed vacation to WDW in less than 2 weeks, a action that I'm so excited for and yet dreading at the same time. I dread walking around for days with this weight hanging on my shoulders and back. In years past it didn't bother me as much, but now it's a totally different story. I've always been uncomfortable but not in so much pain. I just want so much to be able to have fun with my husband and kids, and enjoy running around and riding rides minus the discomfort. I'm just praying for a miracle. That somehow I will get the call for a surgery date much faster than expected. Right now they are booking in September and I'm scared that it will be so far out that it will be next year before I can have the surgery, because of my job. Well, enough complaining.

Like so many others here, I have lived with pain...

Like so many others here, I have lived with pain in my upper back for 20+ years. Now my shoulders and neck hurt so bad I could cry every day. I just met with Dr. Atwood yesterday and he gave a favorable prognosis for a reduction and for insurance to cover it. Now I wait... I have no patience, I need relief.
I do have a question, am I crazy to want to go down to a small C cup?

I had the same complaints. I had my surgery on March 17th, I was a 34HH and wanted to go down to a small C too!!. I'm not sure what my exact size is yet, my doctor said a 34D or DD. So If that's the size I am then I am happy with them. I had a very pretty feminine 34D bra that I had bought years ago before kids hoping to squeeze into it, I tried it on the other day and it looked great! They look small, they are perfect even if they are a D or DD. You won't be disappointed if you don't get down to a C. I was concerned when D or DD came out of my surgeons mouth, not what I wanted to hear but I actually think I wouldn't want them any smaller than this. My doctor did a great job. Sometimes going too small might jeopardize nipple sensation, I don't have nipple sensation yet, but if I don't get it back, I think it's a small price to pay.

I'm so glad that you're happy with your size and results! I would have to agree about the trade off. Loss of sensation vs constant pain is no contest!

No, ur not crazy! I also have huge boobs, 32H/34G. It's such a pain and I feel u. I dream of a breast reduction and I too would love a C cup for a change and walk around braless!!! Lol. My friends think I'm crazy, they say i'd lose my identity (lol). They don't appreciate what it takes to carry on so much weight and how difficult it is to find nice clothes. I'm having a TT in may but a few days ago, I decided that I shd probably just go for a lift/reduction if possible while I'm at it. I will have to discuss that at my pre-op next week. I may not go down to a C so I don't "lose my identity" but definitely no more than a D. We need the relief!!! Good luck with ur decision and pls keep us posted.

I can't agree more! Best of luck on getting the BR too. My identity is definitely not in my boobs, or any part of my body. I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago so I dealt with the body part= identity issue then. I just want to feel healthy and comfortable!

Hi HMBakho,
Interesting that your friends say that about your identity. I just had a breast reduction and before I had it done I really struggled with the identity thing, always having very large breasts (38NN before the reduction). I was still nervous the day of surgery! Still, I have to say, once it's over and done I had no problems related to the loss of my identity, I just felt and looked great! Good luck to you in whatever you decide.

Lol, you're definitely not crazy to want to go down to a C... I wanted to do the same thing, but my PS advised that I should not go down too small so that they can fit my frame. I agreed, so now I am a small D. They look perfect on me and they're still "small" and perky compared to my 34 JJ breasts, so I am extremely happy! Minimum bounce too! lol. Congrats and good luck!

not crazy at all. I am a small person (5'3", size 6 feet, etc) and asked to reduce my DDs to an A. they're on the borderline between B and A right now due to swelling. I don't regret it one bit...!! so much relief!

My surgeon would not guarantee nor even really discuss cup size with me. His concern was my safety, blood flow, and proportion to my body. I came out with beautiful, perfect breasts, even though I'm still not sure of my cup size since I'm still healing. I'd say to express your desires to your PS but understand that they have a lot of experience in the best outcome for their patients. I wouldn't get hung up on cup size because I promise you, you'll look so much more proportioned and beautiful after the surgery regardless of the cup size you end up with. Plus, you'll feel so much better. Just my opinion.
