Had my consult.

My initial consult with Dr Rex was not what I was hoping for. There were numerous things that bothered me. Not the right office or surgeon, for me.

From other competitors I have heard from, the only thing that may change is the ability to lift chest heavy and certain exercises are worse than others. Some women continue with no issue and some have discomfort and there is talk of elevated risk with Capsular Contraction with training heavy chest, although it is not proven to cause it (nothing is proven to cause it, at this time). My chest is personally my least favorite to train. I usually do flat bench and decline push ups. I go till failure. Knowing all that would not totally deter me from getting implants.

My breasts actually make me not want to take my shirt off during intimacy with my husband. They are really shriveled and just not what I want them to look like. It isn't only about the stage or my shows. Having breast fed 3 babies, they are lifeless. LOL

Good things that I found out from my appt:

- I do not have sagging and my surgery will be straight forward and the Dr said he expected good results.
- I have enough tissue to cover the implant well and if I go under the muscle, I will probably have very little wrinkling when I get lean, if any.
- I also decided I definitely want Sientra implants and obviously, therefore, silicone.
- I found out that I can support up to a 450 CC on my chest wall. I will most likely be doing either a 385 or 435 cc implant, if and when I do decide.
- My estimation of 8000$ for implants was pretty spot on, so, zero sticker shock.

Thank you all for your replies! You are all so sweet. I plan on continuing to bulk and build muscle through the new year for next years shows. My biggest obstacle is deciding when is the best time to get the implants. In reality, October would be ideal but I will not be eligible for time off from my new job until November some time. The issue with that becomes recovery time. I have to be willing to forgo a few months of building muscle in lieu of getting breasts and I am not sure that it wise, since I have a national show next year.

I am currently researching more surgeons in my area for consults.

I have made the initial email to reach out to a Dr. about my breast Augmentation. I am nervous, excited, scared. I am very sure about having the surgery, though. I have been doing a lot of research. A little more about me.

I am 5'2'', currently off season from my competitions, 120 lbs, I am a full time mommy to 3 little girls and work part time as a nurse at an endoscopy facility. I am married to the man of my dreams and have been for 11 years. I started out at as a 34 large C/Small D, prior to children. My 3 pregnancies caused me to expand to a 32 H at the most and then deflate post-partum and nursing. I am now a very sad and deflated 32 A. My biggest issue is not fitting properly into clothes. I feel like my breasts do not have any fullness at the top anymore. They only sag when I bend forward because there is not much there to sag, I have started leaving my shirt on while being intimate with my husband, I hate for him to even look at my breasts. Another reason is when I am on stage. I had to triple pad my suit in April for Symmetry and no matter how hard I work in the gym, my breasts are not going to get any better. My youngest is now 2, she has been done nursing since she was 7 months old, so I know that I have "settled". No more babies for us and I want to feel good about my breasts again.

What I want for implants? I know I want unders, as I get VERY lean and do not want rippling. I am thinking in the range of 275-375 cc's. I am still trying to decide on the incision site and silicone or saline. I am pretty sure I need and want high profile, as well.

I reached out to Dr. Rex's office, as he came highly recommended. I am hoping to make my consult appt in August and have surgery no later than late November.

Adding some pics of my non-existent boobs! LOL My suit was TRIPLE padded on stage!

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Seckel and his staff at the Concord Office. From the moment I arrived, the experience was exceptional. Kathleen Burke, the practice manager was articulate, welcoming, and had great attention to detail in describing to me everything I needed to know. I was impressed with the description of the cleanliness and care that would be used in the operating room. I was impressed that Dr. Seckel has a CC rate that is 8% (1.8%) lower than the average, obviously a result of his cleanliness and attention to detail! My meeting with Dr. Seckel was amazing! He was willing answer any questions and listen to my goals in relation to my breasts and took into account my lifestyle. I can tell you, I walked into that office anxious with a lot of questions regardless of my years of research, however, I left the office trusting him and the staff completely. We nailed down a size range, placement, and tentative date for surgery. I left the office “knowing” he was the surgeon for me! I cannot wait for summer and to have my procedure!!!!
