Dr. Koehler is brilliant. He didn't do what I wanted him to do by giving me the lift and implants together. He assured me that left first with implants 3-8 months later would be ideal for me. He was right. I am so thrilled with my results both after the lift where I ended up with baby boobies (compared to before), and after augmentation where I have big boobies. He does fantastic work, and couldn't be happier with my choice in surgeon.

What size implants did you get? Under or on top?

I got Natrelle softouch gummies in 405cc under the muscle.

You look great! Are you doing anything for your scars? Looks like you are healing very nicely. I'm 3.5 weeks post op. I'm using biocorneum on areola incisions and mircropore tape on vertical scars. Keeping my fingers crossed that this works for me. My body doesn't alsways do well with scars.

I'm not using anything on them. I used mederma for a bit after the lift, but it made me itch terribly. I didn't notice it helping any either, so I quit and haven't bothered with anything else. I heal pretty well, so I'm not worried about the scars much.

One of the surgeons I’m looking at wants to do the lift and augmentation separate. But that seems like sooo much more recovery and more $$$. Is it worth it to do them separate?

A friend had hers done by my same surgeon. She had it done in one procedure because she insisted despite him wanting to do two. Her breasts are already saggier than I would be happy with. She also went with saline and a larger implant. I'm sure that plays a part as well. While I was not happy with needing to do two procedures, I am glad I listened and did as he wanted.

One week post-op augmentation (4.5 months post lift)

I had my one week post op check with my doctor yesterday. Everything is going well. I was finally able to come off the pain medication on day 6, but still took the muscle relaxer once before bed and once in the middle of the night when I woke up in pain. I'm having a good bit of pain in the left one this morning after the doctor did the massage yesterday. It was rough getting through my husband doing the massage this morning, too. Otherwise, they are great. I love my results.

Glad you're happy with it! I had mine done a week ago and excited for the healing.

2 weeks post-op

Yesterday made two weeks since my augmentation surgery (lift was in April). All is going well. I'm FINALLY starting to hurt much less. Boy, I was not prepared for how much it was going to hurt considering my lift was a breezy recovery. I took nothing for pain last night, but still took the muscle relaxer before bed as a precaution. I'm able to sleep on my sides now. Hooray!
I'm 41 and 5'4" 117lbs (119 since surgery). By 13 I was a 34 DDD, and never had cute, perky boobs. 4 years ago I was an H cup. At the time of my lift I was a DD, but mostly saggy slop. I'm not even sure what I was after my lift or now with the implants. I went with 405 cc Natrelle inspira cohesive gummies under the muscle. Husband wanted 450, and doc said he would have recommended 600, but there was no pressure from either. I'm thrilled with my choice.
The only time I've felt down or sad was when the pain was getting to me. So thankful that has eased up, and allowing me to enjoy my new boobs.

Congrats on your procedures! You look fantastic! That was wise doing them into steps, imo. I also had a BL/BA. I think if I had to do it over again I would’ve broken it up into two surgeries. Not to mention I ended up needing a revision so it ended up being two surgeries anyway. Lol. I look forward to following your progress. Happy healing! :-)

Why would you have done it in 2? The surgeon I saw wants to do them separate, but I’m not too keen on the idea.

My surgeon was 100% against doing it in one surgery. I was 100% against doing it in 2. I actually rejected a surgeon 4 years ago because he also insisted on two. Once I sat down and really listened to why, I agreed.

They are contradicting procedures. The lift is to get your breasts as high and tight as possible. The augmentation stretches. Doing them together fights the process. I also had grade 4 ptosis. My surgeon was extremely concerned about nipple preservation, and said my best chances of a good outcome would be to have the lift first and let it heal. He also said that after they healed we would have a much better idea of what size implant I would need. I cried. I was so frustrated because I am impatient and I was afraid that I wouldn't go back for the implants. I just wanted it all done and over with. For the first couple of months I was convinced I would never go back for the implants because I was just so thrilled with finally having breasts up where they belong. I'd never had that in my life. However, about 3 months in my breasts did exactly what he told me they would do - they lost the upper pole fullness that was there in the beginning. I ultimately decided to go back. Now that all is said and done, i am very thankful for having done the two separate procedures. It did end up costing me about 1,500 more, but it was worth it.

That makes sense about them contradicting each other. Did you feel that the recovery was easier when you got the implants compared to the lift or about the same? Also, what was the downtime on both? Were you able to workout or were there still restrictions?

For me, the implant recovery was so much worse than the lift recovery. It hurt! I had a hematoma the night I got my lift and had to have surgery again the next day to remove it. It was no big deal recovering. Only took pain medication on the day of surgery. I had no complications after the implants, but they were so painful

Oops, I didn't mean to hit post yet. I took pain medication and muscle relaxers to two weeks after the augmentation surgery. I was able to go out and about right away, but kept myself medicated around the clock. I've never had to do that with any other surgery before. I hate pain medication, so it was a bummer that I needed it so long.

I do not workout, so that isn't something I can tell you. I do know there are restrictions on it for a few weeks though.
