28yo Scheduled for Reduction W/lift 3/17! Fairfax, VA

Hi honey! Oh I am so glad for you. I think you will enjoy life over the rainbow. I am not as big as you but I am looking into the surgery and feel there is a lot of upside. What was your worst moment with your breasts - a moment that you will be so relieved can never happen again??!

Congrats on your decision. I will be 2 weeks post op breast reduction/lift on Tuesday. Everyone said this surgery is no big deal but it is a big deal. I do not believe the administer pain meds until you wake up. I hurt so badly when i awoke from anesthesia. Pain was worst then child birth and narcotics took the edge off of it but never made pain go to a zero. I came home with dressings to my chest wrapped with an ace bandage. I came home with 2 j tubes. They gave me tylenol with codeine for pain control. Yesterday is one of the 1st days that i havent experienced much pain. I showered on day 4 using the hibiclens they gave,me prior to surgery. I bathe my breast with this every day. You will need some dressing supplies. After j tubes were removed i continued to have a small amount of drainage for 5 days. I found out covering suture areas with small gauze provides so much comfort. Tried to work my first day without dressing and was miserable. If you can take 2 weeks off i would recommend it. I only took 1 wk off. It was very hard working without pain meds. I took tylenol the first day with no relief. Aleve works so much better. Its 2 tablets every 12 hours. As soon as i get home from work I take my tylenol #3. The sutures to my areolas are nearly healed with right side healing faster the same with my incision under my breasts. Most of my pain comes from the sutures under my left breast. I was a 38dd and now im a 38c. I really havent had alot of bruising. Both breast are still swollen and tender to touch. I bought my dressing supplies at target. They were very cheap there. I usually open one. I completely open it up and cut it in half then roll it back up horizontally and place ea piece under ea breast then i open a 2x2 dressing completely, cut it in half and place half over nipple area this way i only use 2 dressings a day. It keeps my wounds from sticking to my bra. He had me buy my support bra from Walmart. Its fruit of the loom front closure sports bra 2 for 10 dollars. Get them larger then normal. Thought before surgery i was a 36. I was wrong. They have size 40 doingvto your post op swelling i recommend size 40. Its so comfortable vs the 36 and 38. I tried both. Have at least 4 bras. Youll ooze a bit at 1st so youll be changing your bras daily. The last thing you want to do after surgery is laundry. Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Oh my gosh, excited for you! You are going to feel such a huge relief and life change after! Congrats on doing this for yourself. :)

For me, protein shakes were easy to make & drink while getting a whopping 25g protein per serving!
