Profhilo - 57, and 15 months ago had full facelift

ORIGINAL POST

Profhilo

WORTH IT$400
I am 57, and 15 months ago had full facelift. Prior to that, I had a few experiences with various types of fillers. I have a small face and am very slim. I never wanted great big cheeks, nor do I want to look like anyone other than me, but any of the juvederm fillers looked awful on me. My face just doesn't get on with that product. (I had Radiesse years which was much better).
Since my facelift, my eyes and temples look more hollow, which is a shame. Not a look I wanted at all.
A bad experience with under eye filler by an 'expert' 3 years ago left me with a health complication as my nasal ducts had been blocked. After a letter from my GP to the male nurse who performed the treatment, I was sent to their doctor who skilfully injected hyalase to dissolve the offending filler. It also dissolved a little of my natural hyluronic acid too unfortunately but I was told this might happen.
Bit of a long story but due to that experience and the downtime, I have been seriously cautious about fillers. Not wishing to be negative but it can be very stressful when you are unfortunate as I was, because not many nurses will admit there is a problem. Happens a lot.
So.... I was delighted to be told about Profhilo. This is not a filler, but it plumps up your skin beautifully. My first treatment was a month ago. I was injected in 5 marked areas on each side of the face. The injections are not as deep as with filler. These ones are superficial. The manufacturer advise not to use numbing cream as his can interfere with the product. instead, ice packs were used to numb my face. The injections don't hurt though.
I was told I would have bumps of product at the injection sites (don't plan to go out afterwards ladies).
I also lay under a Dermalux lamp afterwards (although I don't think this is normal part of the treatment....I just have a great nurse) for twenty minutes which reduced the bumps a bit. But I m sensitive to treatments so I knew I would react.
I was given some vitamin K cream, and a lovely sheet mask to use a few days later. The bumps dissolved and the product started to do its work within a few days. I can honestly say that I loved the results.
You are then supposed to have second treatment in a month (I had my second yesterday), and after that, every six months.
My bumps weren't so bad yesterday but it will take another few days to die down.
It really is terrific for under the eyes because even though it isn't injected in that sensitive area, the product spreads under the skin so it lifts out hollows.
I really noticed a healthy glow and I'm pretty much sold on Profhilo.
Cost? Like any treatment, it depends on where you go and whether you are paying over the odds. When I was researching, I noticed a clinic in London charging £800 for a treatment - ridiculous.
Obviously you need to find a highly skilled and reputable nurse but I paid under £200, which seems to be the recommended price point.
Highly recommended this product. Again, it is not a filler and so it will not augment. It is though, a beautiful product for rejuvention.
I don't really have lines except a few around my eyes, and so photos of my face wouldn't do the product justice. My friends have noticed my skin looks good though. To me, its plumped it back up to the way it looked about 5 years ago. Facelift is terrific but it's the plumpness that really helped me.
Believe me, I was tired of wasting money and having disappointments, but this is great! Thumbs up!

Hi I have sent you a pm. Glad to see a positive review. Does it help with volume do you think?
Hi
The 6 million dollar question everyone wants to know is , will this profhilo do what dermal fillers can't . WILL IT FIX VOLUME LOSS CAUSED BY LASER DAMAGE WITHOUT MAKING THINGS WORSE .
I will find out I guess.
Hi Sarahfin , I have been following your story since you first posted and I am very glad you made the right decision in the end and avoided Fat transfer to the Face. Have you been for a consultation yet about profhilo ?
Already had it done. Due my second session on Monday tben wait for final results. At the moment I am very pleased. It couldn't of happened a moment sooner as my face deteriorated in the last two months and I looked worse than ever. However I do feel the profhilo has helped me with that. Its not fixed everything but it is an exciting new product. I was very scared because it is new but it is only a filler that hasn't been criss linked and helps to fill tissue. Which gets very damaged by radiofrequency. I am praying and hoping this the answer for me. Its expensive as in I will need regular top ups but I imagine eventually less and less as my own collagen builds. Thanks for following my.story.

Great to hear. Do they offer the treatment in the US
Thats Brillant news Sarahfin , I am praying and hoping also , because if it works for you , it gives the rest of us hope and confidence to try it also .
Hi Sarahfin , How did your profhilo session go today ?
Sarafhin how many treatments have you had so far ? How often did your nurse say you can get it done .im on my second injection 2 weeks in . I’m hoping for the same repair . I had damage from chemical peel and retinol .my skin/volume loss . Thinking of sculptra next tbh
No! Dagnabit! I keep waiting for the FDA to approve it. But for reasons I know not why, some dermatologists dismiss it as no better than the dermal fillers we have here in the states. — An opinion that makes my blood boil and exposes their arrogant ignorance. Because Profhilo is not a filler… Btw, I HATE dermal fillers. They ALWAYS look lumpy and unnatural on me.
I forgot to ask , Is it injected superfically ?
Hi Sarafin,
Can you recommend the place where you had it done please?
I went to face the future in Wakefield and have been very pleased.
Hi where did you have your profhilo treatment please?
Hi , I was very interested to read your story , I was just looking through the site for information on this treatment . I am booked to have dermal fillers next week, and they also offer profhilo .
I don’t think I can have it this time , as we are having a family meal out the same evening , but I will follow your recovery with interest to see how your skin improves over time .
I am 63 though , so not sure expecting miracles , just a softening of the lines .
You didn’t say where you had your treatment , my clinic is more expensive !!!
