The Most Impactful Experience of my Life.

It has been a little over a year since my FFS procedure. I cannot express in enough words how grateful I am to Dr. Toby Mayer for performing such beautiful work. Surgeons such as Dr. Mayer are true saviors and are crucial for transsexual women like myself to be able to have access to. The past year has been a rollercoaster of emotions. I do want to start by saying now that I am fully healed I look and feel incredible and I have never been this confident and sexy in my life. I've also never been able to pass so much in my life. I am very lucky to say I came out and socially transitioned at a young age however my family did not let me begin HRT until I was legally an adult. Therefore I did go through male puberty and the older I got I became extremely depressed and angry and social settings were very awkward and everyone always batted an eye when they saw me. I finally realized I wanted Facial Feminization Surgery as my first procedure. I did extensive research which I recommend doing for anyone out there looking to get any type of surgery done on themselves. I knew I wanted the best of the best. No matter how far I had to travel, no matter how much it cost. I wanted the most experienced and most caring, knowledgeable surgeon I could get. I needed someone who had years of experience, someone who not only cared and heard transsexual voices but understood us piece by piece. I needed trusted sources and I needed real stories and real photos and I found all of that through Dr. Toby Mayer. I originally found him on Instagram, and his before and after photos made my jaw drop and now my own before and afters give me the same reaction. I went through his whole page and looked through all his posts. I watched all the YouTube vlogs available and everything was positive, and I loved what I saw. I also went to Dr. Mayer's YouTube channel and it was very informative and it shows what he's doing and why he's doing it and that is another huge factor in why I went to him. His techniques are what all FFS surgeons should be doing and I stand by that. I got 8 procedures done. They all healed great. He performs the surgery in the least scary way possible. I also felt no pain which was shocking and the biggest relief I could ask for during my week in Beverley Hills for recovery. Now the only downside to that first week is being uncomfortable. Sleeping upright might not be the most comfortable thing for everyone, and it just has so much going on in your face. And not being able to touch it it can be overstimulating. But just keep a positive mind and get your rest. It's really not that bad especially since there's no pain. Some people say they are nauseous after surgery, but that was not the case for me. You might be a little tired from the anesthesia, but that's it. Dr. Toby Mayer's staff is also so incredible. They work so hard and they are seriously the sweetest people. I felt so comfortable talking to everyone. Dr. Mayer and his nurses are very straightforward and they get to the point they tell you how it is. And they tell you the truth. Everything they told me that was going to happen happened. They will tell you it is crucial to have patience during the process and that is true, you need to listen to them. If you're like me and you're getting as much done to your face as I did, it's going to take a while for the swelling to go away. So do not beat yourself up after the procedure. Just take care of yourself drink lots of water eat healthy and wait for your time to come trust me, and everyone at their office, it will. Dr. Mayer has been performing these procedures for decades and has rarely had issues. And I can see why. He I knew my face better than I knew mine. And even when we did have disagreements, he still did what I wanted. He took my thoughts and feelings into consideration first. I also love Mayer's work because of how subtle yet drastic the changes are. Mayer is all about natural beauty which I love. I still wanted to look like myself after the surgery. I didn't even want to look like I got surgery. I just wanted to look like the hot female version of myself that I've always seen in my head since childhood and that is exactly what Dr. Mayer gave me. Now I walk with confidence and I never get the same repeated disrespectful comments thrown at me that most trans people get daily. I never get misgendered. It's such an amazing feeling. It's a feeling that I once thought I'd never be able to get. And I'm so privileged to be able to live it. In simple words, I could just say Toby Mayer's Facial Feminization Surgery changed my life for the better, but FFS has been so much more than that to me. This procedure has not only given me a boost of euphoria and confidence, but it has also given me inner peace. Prepping for FFS, healing from FFS, and being post-op from FFS has shown me how important loving yourself and taking care of your body and mind truly is. Coming from a young trans woman who got FFS at 19 I know all about the struggles of self-hatred and severe gender dysphoria. I also know how antsy one can get waiting to undergo or pay for the procedure and you can feel discouraged and frustrated at times. It's a unique experience, but don't let anyone bring you down. All that matters is that your thoughts and intentions are positive on the inside. Work hard, love yourself, stay true to who you are and be safe.
