9 months post op - recovery process was more intense than I could've been prepared for.

I had facial feminization surgery at the Spiegel Center 9 months ago. Despite despite all my research, the recovery process was more intense than I could've been prepared for and it has only been until recently I've felt recovered emotionally and physically enough to begin to reflect on the experience!

I am so happy I chose the Spiegel Center. It isn't a far drive from where I live which made it a clear option, and the good reviews are true, Dr. Spiegel is excellent at what he does. Uzma was my patient care coordinator and she was a stable touchstone for me throughout the entire process; answering questions about insurance, responding with compassion to my distressed emails when I was freaked out by the healing process, and always being patient, clear, and direct when responding to my concerns or wonderings. Juliana, the transition specialist, had lots of helpful advice from lived experience, and also acted with such kindness and care. When I first went back to the Spiegel Center after several months of healing, Dafina was at the front desk this time and greeted me like she remembered me from yesterday and made me feel welcome with a couple genuinely meaningful compliments - so charming.

Everything in the office just seemed to run so smoothly despite how busy everyone is - clearly a hard working crew.
