Forehead Contouring Wasn’t So Bad!
WORTH IT$19,000
I had forehead contouring and I’m so happy with my results!
It was such a fast and easy process. I was able to get a consultation within a few days of contacting them. I had my surgery about 5 weeks later!
It was a bit tight to get my therapist letters, physical, blood tests, and prior authorization done in time. I was very worried insurance would deny it and I wouldn’t have enough time to dispute it. But it was approved! My patient coordinator Carole was very helpful answering all my many, panicked questions! I’d recommend giving yourself more than a month, just in case.
I stayed in Boston for about 9 days. I arrived on Sunday night, had my surgery on Tuesday, and flew home the following Tuesday.
I wasn’t allowed to eat or drink before the surgery. It wasn’t so bad.
After the surgery, I was groggy but not in any serious pain. My head started swelling and hurting, but acetaminophen was enough. I could only eat apple sauce and pudding for about 3 days.
I took off the bandages and hair ties on Thursday morning and found my hair super matted around the incision. I fixed some of it but had to cut off one small chunk. I hemorrhaged into the whites of my eyes, which took about a month to go away. I lost about a half inch of hair around the incision but that should grow back. I also lost sensation above the incision until the top of my head, and the right half of my forehead was a bit numb. But overall the recovery was pretty manageable; just expect to be a little weird looking for a month!
The price was about 19k (15k for the surgery, 4k for the OR and anesthesia). They sent me the full bill and I sent it to my insurance company for reimbursement.
The experience was so positive. Dr. Spiegel and his staff are compassionate and competent. I’d definitely do it again.
