Ultherapy Damage- Structural Fat Grafting
After 18 months of agony watching the progression of complete fat atrophy of my face and loss of the architecture unique to my identity disappear I made an appointment to speak to Dr. Michael Law in North Carolina at the Blue Water Spa. His staff was immediately warm, compassionate and understanding. Not once did they dismiss my concerns regarding the devastating damage that Ultherapy had on me. It was a lot of trauma to experience and having the support of Dr. Law and his staff meant the world to me. From the first appointment speaking to Angie my patient coordinator to my phone conversations with Dr. Law I felt completely supported and in good hands. I sent him many photos of me after the damage and then also pictures of me from my teens, 20's, 30's, 40's and a few months prior to the procedure so he could get a feel for my face and so he'd know that I'd always had a very full face.
I'm from out of town and I traveled all the way from the West coast to the East coast to have a full facial fat transfer. I was also thrilled that Dr. Law was happy to explant my breast implants while I was under for a very fair fee as well because one had ruptured and they had been recalled. My nurse Tracy ensured all my medical tests were complete as I'm over 50 and Angie sent me all the information regarding out of town visitors so the process was seamless. I booked my flight, had all my tests completed and booked a hotel. The only thing I had to worry about was taking an Uber to the surgery center for my pre-op and for my post op appointment. During my pre-op Dr. Law was detail oriented, he took so many photos of me and answered all my questions. I had faith in the process and in his ability and expertise in this area. He even offered to do some lipo on my jowls to assist and also after explaining my nerve damage he decided to also to PRP with my fat that would enhance the stem cells and hopefully assist in rejuvenating my skin overall.
The morning of my surgery I was there at 6:00 a.m thanks to a prompt pick up car service Dr. Law provides as part of their standard protocol. This alleviates much stress. I had already used a bacterial wash all over including my hair and was ready to go. The staff was so caring, they listened to me and made the experience as comfortable as possible. I had pain upon waking which they quickly took care of and had a nurse accompany me back to my hotel and a CNA stayed with me for a few hours. I was fine being alone afterwards. Dr. Law called me personally that evening to check on me which was very appreciated and his nurse Tracy called me on day two and I had my post op on day 3. I flew back home on day 4 which I'd say was one of the most difficult parts of the journey for me since I live on the opposite side of the country. I'm on day 5 right now and I'd say I've had quite a bit of overall bruising but my lips are going down and my eyes are fairly swollen. I don't have any input on results but I can tell my face already looks so much better and I was able to sweat between my eyes and down the front of my cheeks which has not happened for over a year due to permanent damager from Ultherapy That made me so happy. I know I'll lose some volume so we really won't know how things completely turn out until January. I highly recommend Dr. Law as a wonderful caring plastic surgeon, his staff is professional, warm and fun. There wasn't a moment I was there even while I was waiting that I didn't have someone who could answer my questions or discuss products they use at the spa...they have a fantastic facial line I'd love to try.
I will post pictures as things progress. I do hope I keep most of the fat volume I have.....I just had to say my experience with Dr. Law and his entire staff was superb. More as the results unfold.
