Trustworthy and Talented - Still Waiting on Effect of Procedure

Just an update after 7 months. Happy to report a really pronounced positive difference in my jawline. There are no marks of any kind in the spots where the tool entered.

Zaza77: in answer to your question, yes, Dr Ting did do lipo at the same time. She said that was integral to the procedure.

Went to a consultation with Dr Ting and she was refreshingly honest about which procedures she didn’t recommend for me and why. Other top MDs in the area tried to sell me on everything. Talking with her felt like talking with a really knowledgeable friend in the field, not someone trying to get me to sign up to spend big money. She gave her opinions freely and clearly spoke from experience.

We settled on FaceTite for my really loose neck skin and double chin action.

Pre-op was fine. The nurse was incredibly nice and had had FaceTite by Dr Ting herself so was able to talk me through what to expect from her own experience (and before and after pictures.)

Unlike other providers who said things like, “this is a weekend of being swollen and go back to work Monday,” they were straight up honest about how long it would really be. So I prepared correctly and got what I expected in terms of swelling time. It seems like other people posting here were misled about how long it takes till the swelling is gone (at least 5-7 days), or whether you’ll feel bumps/ridges (you will and Dr Ting’s nurse told me as much.) So then neither of these are a surprise..

The actual surgery day was fine, I had to wait for a long time in a prep room but that was because Dr Ting was going long on a procedure before mine. She and the nurses she works with clearly like each other and the vibe is good in the operating room.. which may have been affected by the Percocet and Valium cocktail they prescribe. But I had a great old time. Ha.

The COVID pandemic crisis really got serious the days after my procedure so follow ups are by Zoom.
And even then, it feels totally comfortable. Like I’m talking to an ally who’s being straight with me.

I think I’m emphasizing the honesty point because that really wasn’t my experience with other Bay Area 5-star producers I had consultations with. They all recommended their machines, whatever they were, and really aggressive ‘let’s do it all and soon’ approaches. Whereas Vivian Ting would turn her head side to side about some procedures I had been considering and say, “the photos you see from that procedure are the ones that work out really well. I really don’t think you want a ‘had work done’ face, being a guy in your profession, and there’s a significant chance that could happen if you do that procedure, even with all effort to avoid that outcome.” That’s sort of like a car salesman recommending you don’t get the big new car they sell...

I’m at Day 12 after the procedure right now. And I can start to see benefits already on my chin, but it’s really subtle still as the swelling had only really been gone for a few days. And the skin is still tender and numb in some places. I’ll post again with updates after seeing the effects.
