The Facelift I Always Wanted - Natural and Refreshed Deep Plane Lift from a Truly Gifted Surgeon

When people have asked my age since having surgery, it almost always gives them pause. Some people have expressed real surprise and that always convinces me that having surgery was well worth it. I did go into surgery knowing that having a facelift would not stop me from aging and although I originally thought I would no longer need to keep doing fillers or collagen stimulating injections, I now understand that in order to protect the investment that I have made, that will require some level of treatments and ongoing maintenance. That could consist of periodic fat transfers to my face or collagen stimulating injections such as Sculptra. I have yet to determine what that might look like for me personally. I will most definitely continue to do laser and/or chemical peels to maintain the quality of my skin.

By 6 weeks post-op I was feeling great and 4 weeks into my fully normal routine. I knew from Dr. Wasicek that I should expect to be at the optimal point of healing between 3 and 6 months, but I really loved how everything looked right at 6 weeks! That said, family members still thought I looked a bit "surprised" up to 3 months following surgery, primarily due to my brow lift. I purposely sent a lot of pictures to my family and friends back East so that when I did go home to visit, they wouldn't be totally shocked. Regardless, the result I received from Dr. Wasicek was so natural looking. If you did not know me or my age, you would never look at me and think I had work done.

Each and every day I was feeling better and better. I did a lot of casual walking around the block and continued to eat the right foods and drink plenty of water. I also wore sunscreen and a hat to protect my skin following erbium laser ablation. I did return to work at the start of week 2 post-op but working in the industry I was very comfortable with people knowing I had surgery and everyone I worked with did know. If I had the vacation time to take off a second week, I would have, not because how I looked but because I still felt the need for extra rest and sleep. I was 100% comfortable being seen at the grocery store by the end of week 2 and was shocked by how quickly I had healed!
