I can’t recommend Dr. Mao enough. I found him through a friend whose facelift results were incredible, and after doing my own research, I understood why he’d even been recommended by other surgeons.

I was initially nervous about not going under full anesthesia, but he and his staff reassured me, and my friend’s experience helped too — honestly, I couldn’t tell the difference. It felt just as effective as full anesthesia, with none of the added risk or recovery time.

What sets him apart is that he focuses exclusively on the face. You can feel that specialization in every part of the experience, from his skill to his staff’s attention to detail.

Five years after my facelift, my skin still feels tight, my scars are virtually invisible, and I get compliments all the time that I look like myself, just refreshed. That was my top priority — I’ve never used filler and didn’t want a “done” look. He also gave me a jawline I’m not sure I ever had, got rid of my jowls, and my TMJ has essentially disappeared as a bonus. I no longer worry about double chins from bad angles in photos.

The one thing I’d do differently is have my eyes done at the same time as my facelift, like he originally suggested — I just wasn’t ready for both at once. I ended up having him do my eyes later, and the results were just as wonderful.
