Pic to Go with Last 2 Updates. I posted about my facelift. Swelling and tight feeling other normal healing processes improving each day. Specifically, platysmal band behind my ear sort of tight and visible but improving day by day. Healing is truly a miraculous thing.

it takes a year to determine the long term result of a facelift. there will be tightness and then loosening and then contraction and tightness over the span of that time happens. it takes that long for tissues to reach a stable, healed state. for a surgical evaluation conducted by medical professionals, the standard time to do an 'after' set of pictures on a facelift patient is 1 year after surgery. that you're happy with the result so far is an excellent sign though. facelift patients go through a roller coaster of ups and downs emotionally over recovery. it's common. some estimates are 30% experience post surgery clinical depression in the first year. a good percentage become discouraged when the perceive that the lift has started to fail after the initial post surgery swelling goes down. the main thing is to keep in contact with the doctor, who will hopefully help guide things, and be patient as things heal
This is such a good point. Real results can't be seen for months.

End of 3 week post face and neck lift

I am very pleased, banding and lumpiness is improving day by day. I return to work Monday.
My lips and smile are all the way back (they had disappeared into my swollen face).
