WORTH IT
I put on makeup last weekend for the first time in months and, in wonderment, found I no longer needed to contour/shade my jawline…something I’d done for decades. Still baffled and thrilled by this new self experience! Someone asked awhile back for photos of my scars, so I post some here — difficult as they are to get right — as well as a few update photos. More later.

Almost 5 weeks post-op update...feeling good!
I was cleared to work out again last week, which I may have leapt upon too excitedly, much to the dismay of my glutes and quads, oy. There are still parts of my jawline and upper cheeks that are quite numb, but the numbness disappears a bit week by week, and the tightness in my neck and philtrum is loosening. I got a hair cut last week, shorter than I've had in decades, because I no longer feel the need to camouflage my neck and jawline with curls. There are some nights, after my husband has already gone to bed, that I go into our bathroom, take out the little hand mirror, and just gaze at myself from all angles in awe and happiness. I truly had no idea that I could be this happy with my reflection...that it could matter so much. I spent so much time avoiding mirrors and selfies and photos at certain angles that it was just a given. I'm slowly learning I no longer need the unconscious compensatory behaviors or avoidances...it's a learning curve. More later.

How did your cheek volume increase so much?
It is likely my bone structure and the swelling...I always had high cheekbones that were hidden over time by sagging. Once he took everything up and probably removed a bunch of skin, my bone structure underneath was able to show again. I did not have any fat grafting or implants etc...just the lower facelift and the lip lift.
You look great!! Where are your facelift scars? I don’t see anything at your ear line?

I am adding a couple of photos to the review...Realself won't let me post an update with new photos without adding at least 200 characters of filler, so that is what I am doing, lol. I am at the almot 3-week mark, and feeling hopeful about swelling and numbness abating a bit. More later!

Wow, absolutely amazing. Your results are just fantastic.. I hope you feel as pretty as you look!! Thanks so much for sharing your story. I love that your surgeon didn’t hold back and gave you 100 of the help he could provide. I feel some are too conservative. But this is a sensational job. Bravo!
I have to ask… what does the husband think of it! :D I know mine is also going to be confused/distressed if I go under the knife, so I’d love to hear how that played out.
He has been an absolute doll about the whole thing...so solicitous, doing all the shopping and cooking for the kids (well...a lot of take out, but they were still alive and had several vegetables, I'm pretty sure) and until the last few days, I don't think he really "got it". So on Monday night, he walks in after a long day of work, kids had already gone to bed, and I'd actually showered and let my hair go all curly and hadn't put the wrap back on and was sitting with a mocktail enjoying a fire. He sat down and just stared...I said "What...what??" He said "You look like you did when we met...you look 28. I'm dead serious here." And I just melted. What a moment.

I hardly ever comment, but had to tell you how beautiful you look. Wonderful, natural results! I am 4 days out, from a bullhorn lip lift, and ALSO really missing my workouts/glass of wine. I normally exercise every day. I feel great, but look a hot mess. [Taking daily pics and keeping a diary, so I can post about my lip lift later.]. I just turned 55, and also noticed changes to my appearance in a fast way, recently, that distressed me. I'm sure that later on I will also get a lower face lift and neck done too. Right now concentrating on healing from my lip lift a few days ago. xo
hi you look so good!! Very natural. I live in NC and was thinking about going to Dr. Sinno. What surgeon in NC were you looking at orginally? Has the numbness in your face subsided a bit? I am a bit nervous about it.
Hi and thank you! I was looking into Dr. Harley, whose practice in in Asheville...his work looks wonderful and I was convinced he was "my guy", until I tried to schedule a consultation and learned even just a phone consult would take over a year. I cannot tell you how happy I am with my results and with Dr. Sinno. He is simply wonderful and meticulous. I feel like I have the face, jawline and neck I always wanted but never had...and at 54, that is saying something. The numbness has definitely subsided, and I feel like it's a weekly thing, where every week or so, I notice I have another inch or so of feeling radiating from the middle out. My philtrum is still swollen, but I understand the lip lift part is the longest and most difficult to heal, so I am practicing patience.
